One of the things I value most about being part of Breakaway Advising is that it was built differently. 💫💟

It’s a community of advisors who are owners, not employees ~ people building their own firms, serving clients as true partners, and cheering each other on along the way.

These photos are from our annual gathering in Portland, where many of our founders are based. We spent time learning from each other, connecting with software partners, relaxing at a beautiful winery, sharing an incredible meal under twinkling lights, and laughing a lot in between.

What I love most is that behind the work is real community.
Not just networking. Not just business development.
Real relationships, shared growth, and a genuine desire to help each other succeed.

I’m grateful to be part of a group that believes accounting can bring clarity, confidence, and even joy. Both for the clients we serve and the advisors building something of their own.

Entrepreneurship is better when you don’t do it alone. ✨

Hey, y'all, I’m Jade!👋🌿

For those who are new here and for those who have known me through different seasons of life, I wanted to share a little more about the work I do, who I serve & how I got here.

I’m a fractional Controller & CFO for hotels & service-based businesses, with deep hospitality roots.

I started out as a psychology major & then spent nearly two decades in hospitality, working in events, weddings, bartending, restaurants & hotels. While I worked in operations, I always gravitated toward the financial side of the business & loved understanding how the #'s told the story behind what was happening on the floor.

At the heart of my work is helping owners experience more joy, clarity & confidence in their numbers, so they can make better decisions & sleep better at night.

Like many of us, the pandemic became a turning point in my career. During that time, I went back to school to formally train in bookkeeping & accounting, building on the financial & management work I had always been drawn to. I was fortunate to step into a full-time accounting role at a world-renowned luxury hotel, where incredible mentors helped shape my approach & accelerate my growth.

As my career evolved, I also wanted more balance at home & the ability to be present as my daughter grows. Building my own firm allows me to do work I love while supporting clients in a meaningful, hands-on way.

Today, I partner with Breakaway Advising, a national network of advisor-owned firms, which allows me to offer deeper support & broader expertise to my clients. I’m proud to be the Breakaway partner serving SC.

I work with businesses across the US & am especially passionate about supporting owners here in the Holy City + Lowcountry, one of the country’s true hospitality & F&B hubs. I’ll always carry a big love for my Bay Area roots as well.

and honestly, just really nice to get out of the home office & make some new connections.

Good conversations, good people, and a strong reminder that relationships are everything, especially when you’re building.

Grateful for spaces like this in Charleston.

Happy 40th to my husband, business partner, and the fearless founder behind Floyd Family Services 🥂

They say change is scary… and they’re not wrong 😅 But I’m so grateful for the way you believe in us. In every new idea, every bold move, and every leap of faith (even when I’m the one pulling back 🙈).

I’m out working at the Chamber of Commerce office today, representing our business in the community, and feeling extra proud of what we’re building. Your courage, vision, and ability to turn “what if” into “let’s do it” keeps us growing; as a business and as a family.

Here’s to 40 years of drive, wisdom, and that unstoppable builder energy. The best chapters are just getting started. ✨
