It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything. The first year of business has been a whirlwind in the best way. I never dreamed my business would take off the way it did and I’m beyond thankful for clients like that have cheered me on from the beginning. Thank you for an amazing year!

‼️UPDATES TO AVAILABILITY AND COMMUNICATION POLICY BELOW‼️

If you had asked me 7 months ago how I thought the rest of 2023 would go, I would have said it was going to be a dumpster fire. 7 months ago my previous boss sold her company and I was left with 3 options. 1. Stay in a now vastly different company than I signed up for. 2. Find a new job. 3. Take the leap of faith I’d been dreaming about and start my own company.

Fast forward 7 months and I am not only happy with my decision but it proved to be so successful that I will very soon have a wait list. My clients are some of the most fiercely loyal people I’ve ever met and because of them I haven’t spent a single dime on advertising, promoting on social media, or building a website. I’ve built a sustainable and thriving business solely from referrals. I’m going into 2024 with so much gratitude in my heart because if it wasn’t for my clients, I would not have any of this.

Now that brings me to the main reason for this post. I have room for 5 more clients this tax season. Once those spots are filled I am no longer taking new client consultations until May 1st at the earliest. Anyone who contacts me once I am full will be put on a wait list and I will reach back out when I have the capacity to take them on. I pride myself on not simply being a mass producer of tax returns. I limit the amount of people I work with so I can fully meet their needs and expectations. While I appreciate everyone that is sent my way, before you refer anyone to me, please note that I only work with small business owners.

Last item of business, as the years have gone by I’ve gotten more and more Facebook messages during tax season. Last tax season it got to the point that I removed messenger from my phone entirely because I’d lay in bed at night and respond to people’s tax questions. I’ve set out to be more intentional with placing boundaries about when and how I work (and yes answering Facebook messages is work). I’m happy to help with any and all questions, but please email me instead and I’ll return your email during normal business hours.

Hi there! So what exactly do we do around here and why are we different?

Listen, I am not trying to bash on the public accounting industry, but for far too long the common practice has been to churn out as many returns as fast as possible. Client communication is lacking. Tax strategy implementation is lacking. That is why y'all are stressed when it comes tax time and start looking for someone else.

We do things a little differently around here. We aren't in the business of mass-producing tax returns. We ARE in the business of saving clients money through collaborative tax planning.

My goal is to change your mindset when it comes to taxes. So many of you are stuck in a reactive state when it comes to taxes because that is what the traditional public accounting industry has taught you is the norm. You avoid planning for tax season because you dread it. I get that! But in order to take the anxiety out of tax season, you have to proactively plan for it. That is where my 5-Step Tax Saver System comes in. We develop a tax strategy BEFORE tax season so that you go into tax season with a clear plan.

Did you know the U.S. tax code and regulations contain over 10 million words? That is enough to fill up more than 157 novels! On average, 140,000 words are added to the tax code every year.

Did you know that collectively taxpayers spend 6.5 billion hours complying with federal tax laws each year? That is the equivalent of 3 million full-time workers doing nothing but tax return paperwork!

This is one of the reasons you should never try to go up against the IRS alone. Your time should be spent running your business, not researching tax codes. Think of how much time you could save by outsourcing your taxes, which in turn frees you up to generate more revenue in your business. You are not meant to do it all my friend so don't drive yourself crazy trying!
