Starting in 2020, individual taxpayers can claim an "above the line" deduction of up to $300 for cash donations made to a charity during 2020. This means the deduction lowers both adjusted gross income and taxable income. This can be done even if the taxpayer does not itemize their deductions.
Be sure to include your charitable donation letter with your tax information.

Don't forget to include your "Stimulus Payment" when gathering your tax documents.
If you received a Stimulus Payment in 2020, you should have received a Notice 1444 from the IRS. If you no longer have the notice, please provide details of who on your 2020 tax return received a Stimulus Payment and how much.
If you were entitled to a payment and didn't receive it, you can get credit for it on your 2020 tax return.
