Any thoughts on this petition drive??

Maybe I am to suspicious but if Walmart wanted to offer groceries, why didn't a representative from Walmart go to the City and discuss it with them? Why do we need to pay petition signature gatherers and hire a lobbying group from Sacramento ??

We have 3 or 4+ Grocery stores within walking distance of this Walmart, including another Walmart "grocery" store. One more WON'T "lower food costs" or make groceries "more affordable".

I am looking deeper to see if maybe a UNION or other organization may be behind this "BPK Families for More Affordable Grocery Options" group? Any suggestions??
