Confession time. If my morning coffee isn't made just right, my entire day is thrown off balance. Seriously, I'm practically non-functional until that first perfect cup is in hand. It sounds silly, but it taught me something about how fragile our routines can be when we try to muscle through everything. Lately, I'm learning to pause, laugh at my own quirks, and give myself grace instead of rushing the process. If you also have weird little rituals that rule your day, you're definitely not alone.

My daughter is currently convinced that my entire job consists of pressing green buttons on a glowing rectangular screen and drinking excessive amounts of coffee.

Honestly? She is not that far off.

People think financial strategy, cash flow modeling, and client advisory are all high-intensity corporate theatrics. But most days, my brain is split 50/50 between analyzing a client's rolling forecast and wondering if my kid remembered to turn in her homework.

Being a parent and running a practice have a lot in common, actually. Both require endless patience, anticipating problems before they blow up, and accepting that your carefully laid plans will occasionally be derailed by a sudden mess.

The only difference is that my daughter doesn't send me calendar invites at 4:30 PM on a Friday.

I used to have one of my favorite mountain hikes right outside my back door. Now I'm walking around the neighborhood pretending it's the same thing. 😂

I really miss those mountains!

Don't get me wrong, I love working from home, even if I spend half my day staring at spreadsheets and getting distracted by birds outside my window. 😂

But there's just something about being up in the mountains. The fresh air, the pine trees, the quiet. It was my favorite way to clear my head.

I definitely left a piece of my heart in Colorado. ❤️🏔️
