This campaign was inspired by the residents of Brookfield. It was inspired by their values, their virtues, their shared sense of community, and their desire for a government that would welcome their input on key issues facing their city.
Yesterday....you, the residents of Brookfield, voted to be more involved in the future of this city. You voted to have a voice in the future of this community; and regardless of whether I win or lose, I hope that you continue to use your voice to make Brookfield an even better community in the years to come.
I want to thank my campaign staff and the many volunteers who helped get our message out.
I also want to thank my friend, mayor Steve Ponto, for running a fine campaign and for his many years of service to this community. May we work together in the future to add value to Brookfield for it’s residents and visitors alike.
It is time to shift our local government focus from the tax value of our community to the human value of our community. This election provided our residents an opportunity to choose to refocus local government on the dignity and value of our residents.
I am honored and humbled by the diverse cross-section of this community who have stepped forward to embrace our message. Better days are ahead for our residents, our local community, and our nation. I thank God and the beloved residents of Brookfield for the opportunity to have served you as a citizen, and I humbly thank you for entrusting me to serve as your mayor in this fine community.
