If you are an employer or business owner that has been working remotely from home, you qualify for the home office tax deduction. Unfortunately, employees that have been working remotely don't qualify for this deduction.

Must meet one of these criteria:
1. Exclusive and regular use of that portion of the home for your business
2. Home office must be the principal place of business or location where you meet regularly with customers or clients

Measure the square footage of your home office, then compare this to the square footage of your home.

You can WRITE OFF the percentage of home office space you are using for your mortgage/rent payment, any maintenance, utility bills, repair, etc.
