🚨 Mississippi Tax Deadline Relief Update

Good news — the Internal Revenue Service has extended tax deadlines for ALL 82 counties in Mississippi following the recent winter storm.

UPDATE: Mississippi will follow the federal extensions.

What this means for you:
📅 New deadline: June 8, 2026

Applies to:
Individual & business tax returns
Tax payments originally due between Jan. 23 – June 8
Quarterly payroll & certain excise tax filings

Important notes:
⚠️ File an extension by April 15 if you want coverage through October 15
If you miss e-filing, you can still mail an extension by June 8.

⏳ We’re still waiting on guidance from the Mississippi Department of Revenue

This role also includes light data entry and basic bank reconciliation tasks (training provided) to support our internal processes.

🚨 SCAM ALERT: Fake Mississippi Department of Revenue Text Messages 🚨

Both the Mississippi Department of Revenue (MDOR) and the Mississippi Society of CPAs (MSCPA) have issued alerts regarding a phishing scam targeting Mississippi taxpayers.

Scammers are sending text messages claiming to be from MDOR, asking recipients to “validate” or “confirm” tax refund information through a provided link — often with an urgent deadline.

🔒 Important reminders:

Do not click any links or respond to these texts.

MDOR will never contact you first by text or email.

Official correspondence always comes by U.S. mail.

If you receive a suspicious message, delete it and do not share any personal or financial information.

If you’re unsure whether something you’ve received is legitimate, feel free to reach out to our office before taking action.

Stay alert and help spread the word — this scam has already reached taxpayers across Mississippi.
