"🎉 Exciting News! 🎉 This year marks my 10th anniversary in the financial planning industry!

Over the past decade, it has been an incredible journey helping individuals achieve their financial dreams. From guiding people towards debt freedom to assisting them in purchasing their dream homes, negotiating better salaries, saving on taxes, educating clients on investing and savings, and even coaching behavior change – every step has been rewarding.

I am grateful for the trust my clients have placed in me and for the opportunity to make a positive impact on their lives. It's truly fulfilling to witness the transformation and progress as they strive towards financial security and success. đź’Ş

So, I'd like to invite you to celebrate with me today by sharing this post with your friends who might benefit from financial guidance. Let's spread the word and empower more people to take control of their finances and achieve their goals! 🌟

Thank you all for being a part of this incredible journey. Here's to the next decade of making a difference together! 🎉✨"

I’m proud to share that I recently earned a new designation, the Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA®) from the Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts. As a CDFA® professional, I have met the requirement of at least three years’ experience as a financial professional and also completed a series of self-study courses and passed an exam for each course. By completing this specialized training, I have learned how to help clients going through divorce through evaluating the tax implications of dividing property and the financial impact of various settlement options for diving marital property (including pensions) and spousal and child support payments. If you or anyone you know is going through a divorce and needs guidance, please reach out as I would love to give specialized help.

As you think through your finances and the decisions you make with them it is important to first establish your values (as financial decisions are typically connected to deeper needs) around money. Work through the following questions to initiate the process of discovering your true values.
1. Why is money important to me/us?
2. What are my/our top 3 financial values?
3. Why did I/we choose those 3 values? How do they benefit my/our life?
4. Do my/our short, intermediate, and long term goals align with my values?
5. What am I/we willing to sacrifice to reach my/our goals?

What are some of your go-to questions that you ask yourself when faced with a decision (financial or not)?

This weeks is all about mindset!

I started working with a client 4 years ago who had been paying minimums on student loans for about 10 years. The original plan was to slowly increase monthly payments to pay off debt so that aggressive retirement savings could begin. This shift was uncomfortable as money brings a certain level of security. This year, this same client, on their own, initiated a lump sum payoff that was greater than the performance bonus they received. The joy, pride, and growth I witnessed was inspiring. Shifting from a mindset of paying as little as possible to one of aggressive payoff and savings is hard, but extremely rewarding. One of their next big goals is upgrade to a better home, with the extra cash-flow they now have they will be paying down the mortgage at 3 times the speed.

Pay attention to how your mindset will completely switch when you have a clear vision.

This week’s gives a behind the scenes look on how I strive to help my clients reach their personal & financial goals:
Every week, I meet with our Marketing Specialist to go over my appointments. We make note of any changes, if they have any upcoming purchases or life events, new goals, etc. This information gets saved into the client’s folder so we can track progress and keep their personal changes top of mind.
We have been doing this for about a year now and are starting to truly see people’s dreams and life goals come to fruition. It has been so rewarding to be apart of my clients’ journey and watch them achieve amazing goals. Take a look at an example of how these clients experienced personal dreams and financial goals become reality.
… P.S. When I first met with this client in 2019, buying a cabin was a 10 year goal for them – they are 8 years ahead of schedule!

I checked in on your goals last week and now I’ll be sharing a few photos from hitting one of mine. This year I made a goal to add in more adventure/experiences into my life. Last weekend I went dog sledding in Ely, MN. It was exceptional!

5 Reasons to meet with your Financial Advisor early in the year.
1. It sets the tone/specific intention for the year regarding your finances.
2. Establish an annual goal with little “sprint” goals every quarter. I can help you create realistic goals for your financial life.
3. Automation is key to success! At this meeting, we can set up bi-weekly or monthly contributions to ensure investing stays top of mind.
4. Some of you may need to do prior year contributions for your Roth or Traditional IRA's-you have the ability to contribute for the prior year until April 15th.
5. You may need to update your retirement plan contributions (i.e. 401(k), 403(b), HSA...etc.) if you've had a change in income or have a large upcoming spending goal.
It's not too late to set up a plan for 2021! Reach out if you'd like to set up a time to go over your personal situation.
