Halfway through 2026. Here's your mid-year money reset.

The expensive version of summer gets all the hype. But the budget version can be just as memorable, sometimes more, because you're actually present instead of stressed about money.

Your summer doesn't need to be Instagrammable to be enjoyable.

Ask yourself: ✓ Remember those January goals? How many are you actually working on? ✓ Are you closer to financial stability than you were 6 months ago? ✓ What money habit stuck? What didn't? ✓ Where did you make progress you're proud of? ✓ Where are you still struggling? ✓ What needs to change in the next 6 months?

If you're behind on your goals, you have two choices:
Beat yourself up and stay stuck
Adjust, learn, and use the next 6 months differently

I vote for option 2.

You're not starting over. You're course-correcting. And you have half a year left to make 2026 count.

The year isn't over. Your chance to turn it around isn't gone. But it starts with being honest about where you actually are.

Everyone asks how 2026 is going. Here's an honest answer:
Some months you crushed it. Others you just got by.

Maybe you had months where you stuck to my budget perfectly and felt like you finally figured it out. Then you had months where unexpected expenses derailed everything and you had to start over.

You made progress on some goals. Others? Still sitting there untouched.
You celebrated wins. While you also may have made mistakes.

That's the reality of a financial journey. It's not linear. It's not Instagram-perfect. It's messy, imperfect, and requires showing up even when you don't feel like it.

But here's what matters: you're not where you were in January. That's progress.

If your 2026 has been rocky, you're not failing. You're human. And you've still got 6 months to make it count.

Old mindset: "I'll get back on track with my money goals after summer."

New mindset: "Summer is part of my financial journey, not a break from it."

Summer doesn't pause your financial reality:
• Bills still come • Debt still accumulates interest
• Savings still need to grow
• Your future still depends on today's choices

You don't have to choose between enjoying summer and staying on track financially. You just have to be intentional about both.

Keep your weekly money check-ins. Keep your savings automation running. Keep your boundaries strong. Keep your goals visible.

Summer is three months of your financial year. Don't write them off as "lost time" and wonder in September why you're behind.

You can have fun AND make progress. That's not restrictive, that's strategic.

Want to take a vacation without dreading September? Here's how.

Vacations are supposed to be relaxing. Coming home to financial chaos isn't.

Plan ahead. Stick to the plan. Enjoy the memories without the regret.
