It's official 🔥🔥🔥 I'm excited to be heading to Denver this September to speak at the 2026 Association of Women's Business Centers (AWBC) Leadership Conference.

I'll be leading a session titled Finding True North: Using to Strengthen Programs and Increase , where we'll explore how to use data to better understand the entrepreneurs we serve, strengthen program strategy, and demonstrate the impact of your WBC's work.

I recently had the chance to meet with Charlotte D. Whatley, the new Local Taxpayer Advocate here in Birmingham, along with members of the local Taxpayer Advocate Service (TAS) office, and representatives from several of our State Congressional offices.

We spent the morning digging into how the TAS works hand-in-hand with Congressional offices to resolve taxpayer issues — from how cases get assigned, to response quality standards, to the escalation process when a taxpayer really needs help.

As one of the Alabama Members of the Taxpayer Advocacy Panel (TAP) moments like these matter to me. TAP is a Federal Advisory Committee to the made up of volunteers who help identify tax issues that matter to everyday taxpayers and bring that perspective directly to the agency. Sitting in that room with the people who move casework and constituent concerns forward reminded me exactly why this service matters.

Through my seat on TAP's Notices & Correspondence Committee, I'm working to represent you on:

✅️ Making IRS notices clearer and easier to understand.

✅️ Making sure your voice — the taxpayer's voice — actually reaches the IRS.

✅️ Supporting the Taxpayer Bill of Rights in how the IRS communicates with you.

Have you received a confusing IRS notice? I want to hear about it — your story helps shape the recommendations I bring to the table.

👉🏽 Share at improveirs.org.

Honored to serve!

That’s a wrap on an incredible summer with the Alabama Data Scholars Program! 🏆🏆🏆

This past Friday, Bankably.app™ celebrated the completion of our 2nd year participating in the Alabama Data Scholars Program and the outstanding work of our interns, Shayna Haynes Haynes and Dianna-Grace Nelson.

Powered by QuantHubin partnership with Innovate Alabama, Alabama Data Scholars is a paid, eight-week internship program that connects students with Alabama employers to apply data, analytics, and AI skills to real-world projects while building professional and technical experience.

Shayna, a rising senior at John Carroll Catholic High School, and Dianna-Grace, a rising senior at Troy University studying Financial Economics, brought curiosity, professionalism, strong analytical skills, and valuable fresh perspectives to Bankably™.

Throughout the summer, they tested the platform as new users, analyzed data from our soon-to-be launched Bankability Score™, documented their findings, and identified opportunities to strengthen the user experience.

Their thoughtful, honest feedback will continue to influence how we improve Bankably™ and help business owners become financially ready, compliant, and fundable.

They concluded their internship with an impressive presentation at the 2026 Alabama Data Scholars Showcase, and we could not be prouder.

Shayna and Dianna-Grace, THANK YOU for the energy, discipline, creativity, and insight you brought to Bankably™ this summer. Your contributions will continue to shape how business owners experience our platform and how we use data to help entrepreneurs become financially ready, compliant, and fundable.

We are also grateful to the AMAZING QuantHub TEAM for connecting talented young people with meaningful opportunities to apply their skills to real businesses and real-world challenges.

Please join us in celebrating Shayna Haynes and Dianna-Grace Nelson on the successful completion of their internships! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

The internship may be complete, but their impact on Bankably™ will remain.

Saturdays are perfect for podcasts. Got a few minutes this morning? Give this a listen.

I was invited to be the very first guest on Gloria Ware 's new show, Capital Remix Podcast — and honestly, still humbled by that.

Gloria is renowned in all things capital access so you know Gloria + Me = 🔥🔥🔥 It's an episode you can't miss.

Access to capital isn't just about getting approved. 💡

It's about trust. Strategy. Education.

Knowing what to do with the money once you have it.

Capital without strategy = more problems.

Capital + knowledge = growth.

A few clips are up already — go watch the full convo 💪🏽

Please join us in welcoming our two new Data Scholars, Shayna Haynes and Dianna-Grace Nelson, to the Bankably™ App team! 🎉👏🏽🙌🏽

Shayna is a rising senior at John Carroll Catholic High School John Carroll Catholic High, and Dianna-Grace is at Troy University Troy University (Class of 2027) — and now in Week 3 of their Bankably Alabama Data Scholars internships, these two have already jumped into real work: data evaluations, analytics, and dashboard implementation across our Bankably™ platform. This week, they're joining us at Sloss Tech — soaking up Birmingham's best in tech and innovation.

And the timing is fitting. As a Certified B Corp, TMB Tax & Financial Services is on a mission to democratize small business financial literacy and access to capital — and Bankably™ is how we put that within reach for founders the system too often overlooks.

So Shayna and Dianna-Grace aren't just building dashboards. They're sharpening the tools that help everyday business owners get funded. And it's not all behind the screen — this week they're meeting the very business owners Bankably™ is built to serve. 💪🏽

Major thanks to QuantHub, Innovate Alabama, and all the sponsors of the Alabama Data Scholars Program.

We're excited to take part for another year in such an outstanding talent and workforce development pipeline.

Welcome to the team — we're glad you're building it with us. 🛠️🙌🏽

🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 It's official! To now step into the role of Director is not something I take lightly. It's an honor, a responsibility, and a full-circle moment.

I came in as an Instructor believing in what this center could be — and now I get to help build what it becomes. As a business owner myself, rooted in a family legacy of entrepreneurship, I know firsthand what access to the right support can mean.

I am deeply committed to leading the next phase of business development and financial empowerment — equipping entrepreneurs with the strategies, resources, and capital access they need to build businesses that last.

Let's goooooo.
