🌟 Intern Spotlight: Richardo Thompson 🌟
We’re excited to introduce Richardo Thompson, one of Rubino’s talented interns, this summer!

🎓 Richardo is currently studying Accounting at Howard University and is expected to graduate in May 2027. His interests include Tax and Forensic Accounting, fields that allow him to combine analytical thinking with problem-solving.

💡 What sparked his interest in accounting? After taking financial and managerial accounting courses in college, Richardo discovered a passion for the variety, challenge, and critical thinking the profession offers.

🤝 When exploring internship opportunities, Richardo was drawn to Rubino’s commitment to serving the community. He recognized a strong alignment between his personal values and our firm’s culture, making Rubino a place where he feels motivated to learn, contribute, and grow.

🏃 Outside of work and school, Richardo enjoys walking local trails and spending time with friends.

⭐ His favorite motto is: “Only the Best is Good Enough.” A former track athlete, Richardo uses this mindset to push himself toward excellence in everything he does.

🙌 Richardo credits his parents as his greatest inspirations, admiring his father’s strong work ethic and his mother’s optimism. He also looks up to Usain Bolt, not only for his athletic achievements but for the person he is off the track.

📣Intern Spotlight: Meet Tavreet Gill!
We’re excited to introduce the first feature in our Summer Intern Spotlight series and one of our eight interns joining Rubino this year, Tavreet Gill!

Tavreet pursued her master’s degree at the University of Maryland, College Park, and graduated this May. Her interests lie in Audit and Consulting, where she is drawn to the opportunity to make a meaningful impact through her work.

What inspired her to pursue accounting?

“I wanted a career where I could make a real impact through the work I do. In audit, the work we do helps give investors, businesses, and the public confidence in financial information and important decisions. Knowing that my work plays a part in building that trust is something I genuinely value.”

What drew her to Rubino?

After moving from Canada to the United States to pursue her graduate studies, Tavreet met our team during Accounting Night at the University of Maryland.

“Even after a long night, the team took the time to have genuine and engaging conversations with me. I could immediately see the strong culture and supportive environment they had built, and that was something I really valued.”

Outside of work and school, you’ll likely find Tavreet in the gym, exploring local coffee shops throughout the DMV, binge-watching her favorite shows, or learning about black holes and space-time. (Fun fact: she originally wanted to be an astrophysicist!)

Her favorite motto:
⭐ “Be better than you were yesterday.”

We’re thrilled to have Tavreet on the team this summer and look forward to watching her continue to grow and make an impact.
