Primary Job Purpose
The primary purpose of this position is to provide a high level of service in handling the bookkeeping, accounting, and tax side of things for our small business clients so they can spend their time doing what they do best in serving their customers.
Core Job Responsibilities
• Provide timely and accurate full-charge bookkeeping for business clients - including full range data entry, Sales/Excise tax reporting, Payroll tax reporting, and Bank account reconciliations & clearing discrepancies
• Independently create Correcting & Adjusting Journal Entries (year-end adjustments, clean up corrections)
• Set up new Accounting System files in QuickBooks Pro and QuickBooks Online, train clients in software use, and provide ongoing client support and coaching
• Federal Income Tax Return Preparation (Form 1040)
• Maintain an organized work plan & deadline tracking system, handle related administrative responsibilities
Job Requirements
• At least two (2) years of accounting or full-charge bookkeeping experience including hands-on responsibility for accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bank reconciliation, excise tax returns, and payroll tax returns using QuickBooks
• At least two (2) years of federal income tax return preparation (must have experience in preparing Form 1040 individual tax returns; prefer but not required experience preparing business, trust, estate, and tax-exempt tax returns)
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Pro and QuickBooks Online
• Experience with Ultra Tax preferred (but not required)
• Proficiency with MS Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Ability to work in an organized, detailed, accurate, and efficient manner
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to establish rapport and trust with a wide range of clients and answer questions with full understanding from clients
• Cheerful attitude and desire to complete a high volume of work every day
