Top 5 Big tax Changes for the average Households

1. Larger standard deduction stays — and grows
For 2025, the standard deduction is roughly $15,750 for single filers and $31,500 for married couples filing jointly.

In 2026 the deduction rises (inflation-adjusted) to about $16,100 (single) / $32,200 (married jointly), meaning many households will owe less taxable income

2. Bigger and permanent child tax credit (for eligible families)
The bill increases the child tax credit to $2,200 per qualifying child starting 2025.

3. Much higher cap on SALT deductions (temporarily helps homeowners in high-tax states)
The limit on state and local tax (“SALT”) deductions jumps from $10,000 to $40,000 (for most taxpayers) under the bill — a big benefit in states with higher property or state taxes.

4. New deductions for certain types of income (tips, overtime) for eligible workers
