One person I knew was CEO of a large & thriving business he created. A lot of money was flowing through, from large clients. Less than 2 years later the CFO bankrupted the company as he was gambling, excessive drinking, blowing company money left and right. The CEO was completely unaware and thought he had everything running smoothly.

When the house of cards came crashing down, he lost his house he had leveraged to capitalize the business, had to sell the business to pay creditors & got his wife divorced him as a result and completely screwed up his life plan, future retirement. Don't assume, get a review.

Intuit is raising the cost of Quickbooks Online (again) and their payroll processing cost. Not a lot, but its a change and should be noted. There are also alternatives in the accounting software field, although QBO is the dominant player.

Also, I've had some recent experience with businesses who do things that should have some input from their accounting support - like changing the name of their company in a way that doesn't confuse customers, how to deal with A/R balances, setting up billing to avoid duplicate invoices, best practices for deposit data and bank access.

I need to alert everyone who sees this to upgrade their security to at very minimum 2nd factor authentication (SMS confirm codes), but preferably PassKey. Other accountants have reported hacks into systems including Quickbooks by hacking email and then signing into QB and paying themselves quite handsomely for the effort !

I just wanted to say two things, well ok three things.

1. Happy Holidays Folks! Enjoy time with family as much as you can (stand LOL)

2. I have a new very inexpensive small business bookkeeping option, a GNUCash accounting solution that's installed on my computer. Albeit not an online option, it has the power to handle many businesses that don't need the bells and whistles of Quickbooks. Of course there are other online options as well.

3. Forensic Accounting - I can provide total analysis of anything with cash flows. Estates, businesses, personal accounts, inheritances, Trust Funds. Where did the money go? Did we pay that vendor too much? How much are we wasting? Did that office assistant loot the till? Inquire for more.
