☀️FREE SUMMER CONCERT TONIGHT!🎶
Russell is performing in a summer evening concert with students, alumni & community members in the Oak Grove at this evening at 7p. We would love to have YOU join us!
Summer music in the Grove with the University Band of the IUP Community Music School. Don't miss one of the best outdoor summer band concerts of the entire summer!
Saturday, July 13, 7:00 p.m., Fisher Auditorium patio, IUP Oak Grove.
Under the direction of IUP's own Jason Worzbyt, this nearly 90-piece ensemble will perform a wide variety of music, to be selected from:
Thoughts of Love by Arthur Pryor, Dr. Jeremiah Umholtz trombone soloist;
music from The King and I by Rodgers and Hammerstein;
The Great Escape by Elmer Bernstein;
a variety of marches, to include the Dam Busters by Eric Coates, On the Mall by Edwin Franko Goldman, American Red Cross by Louis Panella, and Semper Fidelis and The LIberty Bell by John Philip Sousa;
selected movements of Hebrides Suite by Clare Grundman and English Folk Song Suite by R. Vaughan Williams;
as well as some Americana selections, America the Beautiful and a Salute to the Armed Forces.
The band is comprised of current IUP students and community members, as well as IUP music alum's who take advantage of the opportunity to return to campus and reconnect with friends and colleagues.
There are some Adirondack chairs in the Oak Grove, but attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chair, as well as to come early to enjoy a picnic/beverage, if desired.
