Tax Time has arrived! We wanted to make sure our clients are aware of the new “No Tax on Overtime & Tips” deduction! For us to be able to calculate the deduction for overtime we will need your last paycheck stub from the employer that you received overtime compensation with. If you have/had multiple employers that you had overtime with we will need the last check stub for each. As always we are looking forward to seeing all of our returning clients and meeting new ones this tax season! -The Baxter Tax Service Team

Here is what we know so far, Effective June 28, 2025, the Big Beautiful Bill has become law, offering enhanced tax advantages for overtime and tips. The adjustments for tips and overtime will be incorporated into their 2025 Tax Return as a tax credit. As the IRS issues additional regulations on the new bill, we will notify you of any necessary adjustments.

Update: As of yesterday the IRS announced all TN residents now have an automatic extension to file their 2024 Tax Returns. The new deadline is November 03,2025 to file. If you were unable to get in with us today or were not ready to file your taxes this extension benefits you greatly! Please see the below link for the official IRS release.

IR-2025-47, April 14, 2025 — The Internal Revenue Service announced today tax relief for individuals and businesses in the entire state of Tennessee affected by severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes and flooding that began on April 2, 2025.
