Keep Making History! I’m very proud to be a smart black business woman. A mother who has kids and grandkids who will walk their own paths and continue to make history! Thank you to the pioneers who lead the way and didn’t give up. Most of all to my great grandmother, Katie Johnson who could not read or write. She was proud to see me read and write as a little girl and kept affirming how smart I was. To my grandmother Irene Johnson who made her living babysitting, selling strawberries and making pecan candy and pies to say the least! My other grandmother Elnora Dupart who made a living cooking in the school cafeteria and other place’s catching the city bus having to leave her kids with her mother to make money. To my most wonderful strong mother working as a clerk then pharmacy tech. Also my aunts who also made marks in my life. Now the men.. my father Earnest Johnson was my rock! He made a living as a cement finisher who was taught by my grandfather Lester Jones who also was a business man from owning his own place and his own cement company, who pretty much poured all of prairieville’s concrete for houses and businesses!!!
