🚨 IRS SCAM ALERT 🚨
We’ve had several clients ask if recent IRS calls, texts, and emails are real. Here’s how to protect yourself:
❌ It’s likely a scam if someone:
• Contacts you unexpectedly
• Pressures you to act immediately
• Threatens you with arrest, lawsuits, or
other consequences
• Asks for your Social Security number, bank
information, or other personal details
• Demands immediate payment by gift cards,
wire transfer, or cryptocurrency
• Sends you a direct message on social
media (the IRS will never contact you this
way)
📬 How the IRS usually contacts you:
✅ Mail: The IRS normally contacts you first
by U.S. Mail.
✅ Email: Only if you signed up to receive
IRS emails.
✅ Text Messages: Only if you opted in.
✅ Phone Calls: In limited situations
regarding your tax account.
✅ In-Person Visits: These are rare and are
usually preceded by an official letter.
⚠️ When in doubt, don’t respond or send money. Contact our office first, and we’ll help you determine if the notice or contact is legitimate before you take any action.
