Okay. Something is happening and I need someone to explain it to me. 🐂❓

First there was a concrete slab. Now there’s a giant wooden post. Then a box arrived with bubble wrap, tiny black cylinders, and panels with MY FACE on them.

Why is there a photo of me. Why does it say “About the Artist.” WHO IS THE ARTIST. (Rude of me not to know? Maybe.)

I also saw the words “adolescent subterfuge” next to my name, and now I’m worried about what I did and when.

I have so many questions. Did someone write a book about me? Is this an intervention? Why does Johnny Cash keep coming up?

I’m told all will be revealed soon. I have never been so unsettled in my life. Or so flattered. Mostly unsettled. Mostly. 👀

On November 1st, daylight saving time ends, and the clocks fall back an hour. This shift not only gives us an extra hour of much-needed sleep but also serves as a timely reminder to take care of a few things around the house as we approach winter.

So, that said, here is a quick home checklist worth running through as the days get longer:

✅Turn back any clocks that do not automatically adjust themselves before bed on Saturday night.

✅Test and replace the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. This is one of the easiest ways to keep your household safe heading into winter.

✅Check your outdoor and security lighting. As daylight hours get shorter, having well-lit outdoor spaces can be a key safety step.

Taking care of these small to-do list items can make a real difference in how safe and prepared your home feels all season long.

As always, if there is anything we can assist with, do not hesitate to reach out. We are here to help.

Okay, I’ve been standing out here minding my own business, and now there’s a concrete slab in my flower bed. 👀

Construction. Cedar. Steel. Power tools. Something is happening next to me and nobody asked my opinion.

Is it something fun? Something spooky? A very elaborate bird feeder? A monument to how great I look? (Not mad about that last one.)

I’m sworn to secrecy. Mostly because I haven’t been told anything. Guess below and I’ll tell you if you’re right. 🐂

Come by for a look. I’ll be the large, beautiful, rust-colored one.

The 2027-2028 FAFSA is open as of October 1, 2026. If you or a student you support plans to attend college during the 2027–2028 academic year, it is a good idea to get started on the process early. So, with that in mind, our team wanted to share a few early steps that can help streamline the process:

🔹Create or verify your StudentAid.gov account.
🔹Gather essential financial documentation, including 2025 tax returns, W-2s, and income records.
🔹Determine which parent(s) or contributor(s) will be required to provide information, if necessary.
🔹Review college, state, and scholarship deadlines, as many institutions award aid on a first-come, first-served basis.

While the federal FAFSA deadline is June 30, 2028, many colleges and states set earlier priority deadlines for aid consideration, so submitting your application early can improve access to institutional, state, and need-based aid.

If you have questions about college funding strategies or how education expenses align with your overall financial plan, please contact our office. We are here to assist you.

Building your savings does not always require major lifestyle changes. Often, a few consistent habits can make a meaningful difference over time. Consider these practical ways to strengthen your financial future:

🔹Automate your savings by directing a portion of each paycheck into a dedicated savings or investment account before you have a chance to spend it.

🔹Set aside funds in your budget for predictable expenses, including taxes, annual bills, or business-related costs, so you're prepared when they come due.

🔹Take a closer look at your spending habits and identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary purchases that may be slowing progress toward your goals.

🔹Review your financial picture regularly. Monitoring your savings, investments, and overall net worth can help you stay focused and make adjustments when needed.

🔹Create specific savings goals for both the short and long term. Having a clear target can make it easier to stay motivated and build momentum.

Everyone's financial journey is different, but developing strong saving habits is a great place to start. If you'd like guidance on creating a savings strategy that aligns with your goals, contact us today.
