Do you trust ChatGPT to make financial decisions for your business? 🤔

We are a big on using technology to make our lives easier, and AI is no exception. But there’s a difference between getting an answer and knowing whether it’s the right answer for you.

AI doesn’t always have the most accurate or up-to-date information. And even when it does, there’s often more context needed to make an informed decision.

So use it! Ask questions, explore ideas, and get familiar with your options. Just make sure you’re verifying the information and talking through important decisions with a financial professional who understands your business.

Because ChatGPT can be a great accounting assistant. That doesn’t mean it should be your accountant….

And yes, sometimes a taco is all it takes to make that point. 🌮😂

Look who’s lighting up the Las Vegas Strip for Connect 👀✨

We're used to seeing Keila do big things, but seeing her larger than life on a billboard in Vegas is super special!

We love seeing her get this kind of recognition, and we couldn't be prouder 🥰

The financial decisions you make before year-end can have a big impact on how your business starts the new year.

Whether you're planning to hire, give bonuses, take distributions, or make tax-related decisions, it's important to understand how they all affect your cash flow.

Making these decisions one at a time without considering the bigger picture can leave you with less flexibility than you expected.

The goal is to have a clear understanding of what your business can comfortably support, both now and in the months ahead.

➡️ Swipe through for a few things to consider as you plan for year-end.

For a deeper look at year-end planning, check out the full breakdown on our blog. Link in bio.

Year-end planning” sounds like something your accountant handles for you in December. But it’s really a handful of decisions you need to make now.

It means taking stock of where the business stands:
✔️what you have on hand
✔️how the year is going
✔️what you’re still owed
✔️And what’s already committed.

That way the big Q4 calls (hiring, bonuses, distributions, taxes) get made with the full picture in mind instead of one at a time.

Set aside 30 minutes this week and pull four numbers:
💵 Your cash position
📈 Your Q4 cash flow forecast
💰 Your year-to-date profit
🗂️ What you expect to owe in taxes

That’s the foundation everything else builds on.

We have a full action plan outlined for you on our blog. Link in bio 🔗

If you’ve ever wrapped up one of your busiest months, then looked at your bank balance and thought “where did it all go?”, you’re not alone. It’s one of the questions we hear most from business owners.

Save this for the next time your balance doesn’t match how busy you’ve been.

The resources that helped me start my firm aren't the same resources I need to grow it.

That's true for software.
It's true for leadership.
It's true for hiring.
And it's true for how I develop my team.

One of the things I appreciate most is seeing Intuit recognize that firms evolve. There comes a point where success isn't about becoming the expert, it's about developing people, creating consistency, and building something that can grow beyond you.

I dive deeper into that idea in my latest blog and why I believe this evolution matters for growing firms. https://bit.ly/3QGGfAQ

Growing your firm is exciting—until you realize you can't do it all yourself.

As I scaled Little Fish Accounting, my biggest challenge wasn't, "How do I become better?" It became, "How do I help everyone around me become better too?"

That's why I'm excited about Intuit's shift from ProAdvisor to ProPartner Accountants. The expanded focus on team development, advisory skills, community, and firm growth reflects what many of us need as we scale our businesses.

In my latest blog, I share why I'm paying attention to this shift, how it aligns with the way I've approached growing Little Fish, and why I believe investing in your people is one of the best investments you can make in your firm.

Here’s the part of business no one warns you about… cash flow is what determines if you last.

A lot of businesses don’t fail because they aren’t making money. They fail because they lack structure around how they manage it.

Money coming in doesn’t always mean money is available when you need it. That’s where things start to feel tight, stressful, and unpredictable.

If you’ve ever thought, “I’m making money… so why does my business still feel unstable?” this is exactly what that looks like.

The shift happens when you start tracking where your money is going and when it’s coming in.

Because staying in business isn’t just about earning. It’s about sustaining.

And cash flow has everything to do with that.

Making the shift from doing the work → running the business comes with a different set of financial decisions.

It’s not just about making money anymore. It’s about how you manage it, structure it, and use it to support growth.

If you’re in that transition, here are three questions worth considering:

• Are you paying yourself correctly?
• Is your current entity structure still the right fit?
• Are your spending decisions actually driving a return?

These are the kinds of things that don’t always feel urgent day-to-day, but can have a real impact on how sustainable your business becomes.
