When it comes to money, every setback isn't a loss—sometimes it's just the fourth quarter.

The Knicks were counted out, written off, and down big. But they stayed in the game, adjusted their strategy, and found a way to win.

Your financial journey is no different.

Maybe you've: 💳 Maxed out a credit card
📉 Watched your savings take a hit
🏠 Faced an unexpected expense
💸 Made a money mistake you wish you could undo

The score may not look great right now, but one financial loss doesn't determine the final outcome.

Financial success isn't about never falling behind—it's about staying disciplined long enough to make a comeback.

📌 A budget is an adjustment. 📌 Paying down debt is a comeback play. 📌 Building savings is getting points back on the board. 📌 Investing consistently is playing the long game.

If I send you this, just know I may have taken a few financial losses, but I'm back in the game and making winning moves. 🙌🏾💰

One of the best financial lessons young adults can learn is that you don't have to go into debt to build credit.

A Self Credit Builder Account allows you to build credit without opening a credit card. Instead, your monthly payment is placed into a Certificate of Deposit (CD) that becomes your savings.

✅ Build credit history
✅ Establish positive payment habits
✅ Grow your savings at the same time
✅ Start with as little as $25 per month
✅ No credit card required

Think of it as a double win: you're creating a savings habit while helping to improve your credit score.

🎓 Parents, grandparents, godparents, and mentors: Consider helping a graduate start their credit-building journey this summer.

Save. Build Credit. Create Options.

✨ What an incredible experience! ✨
Today marked the final session of a three-part financial literacy series with an amazing group of scholars at Poly, and my heart is full.

Over the past few weeks, we explored budgeting, banking basics, and credit awareness—all essential tools as these young people prepare to earn money through their summer jobs and begin building their financial futures.

What impressed me most was their engagement. They asked thoughtful questions, shared their experiences, encouraged one another, and created a space where peer-to-peer learning thrived. Watching them connect the lessons to their own lives was truly rewarding.

Financial literacy is about so much more than dollars and cents. It's about confidence, decision-making, and creating opportunities for yourself and future generations.

A special thank you to for providing this opportunity to pour into such a bright and promising group of scholars. I am grateful to have been a small part of their journey.

As always, my mission remains the same: Enlighten. Empower. Educate. 💚💰

Living paycheck to paycheck can feel exhausting… but sometimes God is calling us to shift from just surviving to becoming better stewards of what He’s placed in our hands. 🙏🏾

The Book of Proverbs reminds us: Your next level may require:

✔️ Discipline
✔️ Obedience
✔️ Focus
✔️ A plan
✔️ Faith + action working together

Pray this over your finances today:
“Lord, guide my steps as I build, manage, and multiply what You’ve given me. Help me create overflow—not just enough.” 🙌🏾

This is your reminder that financial freedom isn’t built overnight… it’s built through stewardship, consistency, and alignment. 💰✨ Stop praying only for more money and start praying for the wisdom to manage it well. 👏🏾

Sometimes God will use the smallest things to send the biggest reminders. 🥚✨

This morning I cracked open an egg and found a DOUBLE yolk. Immediately, I smiled because for many people, a double yolk symbolizes abundance, overflow, and unexpected blessings.

Somebody connected to this post needs this reminder:
DOUBLE is on the way. 🙌🏾
Double the peace.
Double the opportunities.
Double the discipline.
Double the healing.
Double the provision.
Double the blessings. 💛

But don’t miss this part — abundance isn’t always just about money. Sometimes God will bless you with clarity, strategy, favor, wisdom, restored relationships, or the strength to keep going when life tried to wear you down.
I truly believe God showed me that double yolk this morning for a reason… and now I’m sharing it with y’all:

✨ IT’S ON THE WAY. ✨

Now make sure your mindset, stewardship, and obedience are ready for what you’ve been praying for. Because overflow still requires responsibility. 💸🙏🏾

Listen… we about to be OUTSIDE all summer long 😎 but don’t let the vibes have you crying over your bank account by August 😭

Having fun is cool, but maintaining the funds to KEEP having fun? That takes responsibility, discipline, and planning 📊💳✨

A little PSA before the brunches, vacations, concerts, happy hours, and random “ let’s go out” texts start rolling in:

🚫 Don’t blame the "Goose" 🚫 Don’t blame the "Tron"
🚫 Or the alcohol

Because grown bills still gone be waiting when summer is over 🫠

Plan accordingly.Budget your fun.Save before you spend. And enjoy your summer WITHIN your means 💚

ACT YOUR WAGE ALL SUMMER LONG 💵👏🏾

Happy Mother’s Day to every mama, grandmother, godmother, auntie, bonus mom, and mother figure pouring love, wisdom, time, and sacrifice into the life of a child. 💚

As much as I teach financial literacy, I also believe one of the greatest investments we can make into our children is our presence. Money matters, but love, time, guidance, peace, and memories matter too.

Let’s raise children who feel supported, seen, protected, and loved ...not just provided for. Because the richest households are built on more than financed, they’re built on connection. ✨🙏🏾

“Don’t let your kids grow up in a house where money matters more than love and time.”

We often joke about “adulting,” but the truth is adulting feels a whole lot lighter when your bills are paid, your fridge is full, and you’re not living in survival mode every month.

Financial peace may not look flashy on social media, but being able to handle your responsibilities, build stability, and not depend on others for your basic needs is a form of freedom.

That’s why budgeting matters. That’s why discipline matters. That’s why financial literacy matters.
Because having money isn’t just about buying things… it’s about having options, peace, and breathing room. 💚

This month, I challenge you to embrace at least ONE new financial goal—big or small.

THROWBACK THURSDAY 💭💸
Whew… we really thought we lost it all, huh? 😭💔
But let me remind you of something… We didn’t lose it—we just weren’t taught how to KEEP it. 👀✨

As we close out Financial Literacy Month, I want you to shift your mindset: 👉🏾 We can STILL have it all… just differently and more intentionally. 💚

Here’s how we get back to it:

💰 Budget on purpose – tell every dollar where to go (not the other way around)

🛑 Cut emotional spending – everything that feels good ain’t good for your pockets

📈 Build before you ball – savings first, lifestyle second

💳 Use credit, don’t abuse it – leverage it, don’t live in it

🙏🏾 Honor your stewardship – what you do with what you have matters

This isn’t about going back…
It’s about leveling up. 📊🔥
We’re not just trying to “have it all” again—
we’re building a life where it lasts. 💪🏾💚
