U.S. Government thwarts success of state-legal ma*****na facilities by denying federal income tax deductions.

Sales of medicinal and recreational ma*****na may be legal in many states, but it remains illegal at the federal level. This gives rise to bizarre tax treatment, because the tax law permits the IRS to deny all deductions attributable to trafficking in a controlled substance.

IRS standard mileage rates increase $0.01 over last year to $0.545 per mile for business and medical driving purposes. Charitable mileage rate remains the same at $0.14 per mile.

The IRS issued the standard mileage rates for business, medical and moving expenses incurred in 2018.

I moved out of my home office! My new office is located at 310 W. Main Street in the heart of downtown Round Rock. Office hours are from 9 AM to 6 PM Monday through Friday. I am very excited to have made this change and I feel the location will make me more accessible to everyone. I share the building with like-minded professionals - CPA, attorney, financial planning advisers - so I believe it is a good fit and will work out well. To new beginnings!
