PSA: If someone slides into your DMs talking about “financial freedom,” “passive income,” and “a life‑changing opportunity”…Congratulations. You’ve just been scouted for the Insurance Avengers: Recruiter Edition.
Before you sign up for an IUL through one of these “teams,” consider the following:
1️⃣ If the pitch starts sounding like a TED Talk mixed with a pyramid“First you buy a policy… then you recruit 3 friends… then THEY recruit 3 friends…”Sir, this is not wealth building. This is a group project I didn’t ask to join.
2️⃣ If they call an IUL an investmentAn IUL is insurance. Not a Roth IRA.Not the S&P 500.Not a magical tax‑free unicorn. If someone says otherwise, please hand them a calculator and a chair.
3️⃣ If you haven’t maxed your 401(k), TSP, or IRAYou have no business buying an IUL.That’s like buying dessert when you haven’t ordered your actual meal yet.Cute, but financially malnourished.
4️⃣ If the fees are explained using interpretive danceCost of insurance. Admin fees. Loan interest. If the explanation sounds like a plot twist, run.
5️⃣ If they pressure you to “start today”Real professionals educate you.Scammers rush you.Your money should not be on a countdown timer.
6️⃣ If your “advisor” got licensed last weekI’m not trusting my financial future to someone who still says “lemme ask my upline.”
😂 Bottom line:
If the opportunity sounds like “insurance + recruiting + passive income,” it’s not a business. It’s a side quest with a monthly premium.
💸 Real wealth building is boring:
Max your retirement accounts.Buy insurance you actually need. And stop letting people pitch you policies like they’re selling essential oils.
