I had the honor of officiating a wedding a few weekends ago.

Even typing that still feels surreal.

Not just because of the moment itself—the weight of standing between two people as they commit their lives to one another—but because of who was standing in front of me.

He’s someone I once interviewed.
Someone I hired.
Someone I’ve had the privilege of watching grow—not just professionally, but as a man.

At one point during the reception, someone came up to me and said:

“You’re his boss? Wow… you must have been a good boss. I don’t know if I would have had my boss officiate my wedding.”

I laughed in the moment, but that comment has stuck with me.

Because the truth is—moments like that mean more to me than any award, any title, or any recognition I could receive at work.

In our world, it’s easy to measure success by production, promotions, and numbers on a scoreboard.

But every once in a while, you get a glimpse of what actually matters.

Trust.
Respect.
Relationship.

To be invited into one of the most sacred moments of someone’s life—not as a formality, but as someone they want there… that’s a different kind of scoreboard.

It’s a reminder that leadership isn’t just about driving results.
It’s about earning a place in people’s lives.

And if I’m honest—that’s the kind of “success” I want to keep chasing.

Congrats Nick & Zoie, you are an incredible couple. What a gift it was to be a small part of your story.

This might be my favorite Christmas card I received this year.

Getting a note like this from Zaria, one of the advisors I have the privilege to lead is a powerful reminder of why this role matters. So much of leadership happens behind the scenes—through coaching conversations, encouragement on hard days, and helping people believe in themselves before they fully believe it yet.

I often describe this career as being built around the 3 I’s:
• Impact
• Independence
• Income

All three are important. But moments like this reinforce that impact comes first. We have the opportunity to influence lives, confidence, and long-term trajectories—not just production or results.

Grateful for the people I get to work alongside and lead, and excited for what we’ll build together in 2026. 🎄

Financial success is about more than accumulation. It’s about stewardship — making wise decisions with the resources entrusted to you. I encourage my clients and advisors alike to ask: Does this decision align with my values? Does it build toward my legacy? Without wisdom, wealth is fragile. With wisdom, it multiplies beyond generations.

What’s one wise money lesson you learned growing up?

Some of the most impactful leaders I’ve met didn’t have “VP” or “EVP” after their name. They led through character, consistency, and a willingness to serve others. In our industry, it’s not about authority — it’s about influence. The advisors who change lives are the ones who show up daily with humility and purpose.

Who’s someone in your life that led without needing a title?

I’ve found that the moment you stop learning, you stop leading. The industry changes. Markets shift. People evolve. The only way to stay effective as an advisor and leader is to stay teachable.

That’s why I surround myself with mentors, books, podcasts, and, most importantly, the advisors on my team — because I learn as much from them as they do from me.

What’s something new you’ve learned recently that challenged your perspective?
