Some days, it feels like we just opened the doors yesterday. Others, it feels like we’ve been lucky enough to have this place far longer than we actually have. Time’s funny that way.

Today marks three years since we started Fully — and what an incredible three years it has been.

We’re fortunate to have the opportunity to do what we do, for the people we get to do it for, for the people we get to do it with, and in the place that we get to do it in.

We’re grateful for every family member, friend, colleague, and community partner who has supported us over these past three years (and beyond).

And, most importantly, we could not do what we do if not for our remarkable clients. You are the reason our work is so rewarding. And you enable us to pursue our dreams while we empower you to pursue yours.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for the trust you place in us. We will continue to earn it every day.

With gratitude,

Ben, Cody, and Ryan

Congratulations to Fully co-founder Ben Jacobs, MS, CFP®, EA for recently graduating from the Athens Area Chamber of Commerce LEAD Athens program! 🎉

LEAD Athens is an intense year-long program designed to develop effective leaders committed to building a vibrant Athens community.

Through Leadership, Education, Awareness, and Development, participants are heavily immersed in community issues including economic development, health and human services, housing, education, the arts, local industry, government, and more!

Team building, problem-solving, and decision-making are also part of the program, which yields a class of leaders ready to LEAD Athens now — and into the future.

Kudos to Ben and all his classmates on their graduation! Thank you for your commitment to making sure Athens' best days are the ones ahead of us.

An annual tradition unlike any other. 🍁🍂

We spent yesterday evening and this morning hand-delivering gratitude gifts to our clients. It’s a small gesture, but it’s so important to us. In the season of gratitude, it’s one way for us to show how thankful we are for their partnership with us.

Every year, it is a special, grounding, and humbling experience for our team — taking the time to visit the homes of families who have given us their trust and support; sparking conversations about their lives and our memories with them.

We are tremendously grateful for everyone we get to work with. Helping them get the most out of life with their money is a responsibility we take seriously and cherish deeply.

We often hear from clients how our support helps them pursue their dreams; we hope they know that by inviting us into their lives, they’re allowing us to pursue ours.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.

With gratitude,

Ben, Cody, and Ryan

Yes, numbers matter when it comes to money.

But here's the real point: how to get the most out of life with your money.

Numbers alone will always look better the longer you work, the less you spend, and the more you save.

But life is about more than numbers. Your financial plan should be, too.

Your financial planning experience should reflect what you want, what’s important to you, what’s meaningful to you. It’s the vision of your ideal life.

What are your goals, values, and priorities? If realized, will your financial plan help you find peace of mind while living a happy life?

Will it empower you to leave a legacy you’re proud of?

Will you spend more moments with the people who matter most?

Will you be healthier and happier?

Will you be more fulfilled?

What do you want your life to look like? That’s what your financial planning experience should reflect.

Estate planning is a cornerstone of a strong financial plan — but it’s not a one-and-done task.

Much like other areas of your financial life, your estate plan needs periodic attention to ensure it still reflects your current wishes and circumstances.

Maybe…

You’ve been putting it off for years;

Your family circumstances have changed;

You want more control over how and when your beneficiaries receive assets;

Or you just need a refresher on what your documents actually say.

Whatever the case, reviewing your estate plan regularly is key to protecting your loved ones and making sure your assets are passed on smoothly, efficiently, and according to your wishes.

Unfortunately, we’ve all heard stories of what happens when someone passes away without an estate plan — or with outdated, incomplete, or conflicting documents.

At Fully Financial, we help our clients review their estate plan and make sure they know their beneficiary designations circumvent probate and their legal estate documents.

Meaning, whenever you name a beneficiary on your account, that’s where the assets will go when you pass away — no matter what your will or trust says.

As you review your estate documents and beneficiary designations, here are a few things to think about:

Have you moved states? If so, is your estate plan valid under the laws of your new state’s laws?

Are there any individuals or charitable organizations that should be added or removed as beneficiaries for any of your accounts?

Have there been any marriages, divorces, deaths, or births that would impact your estate plan or beneficiaries?

Do you want to update any of your intentions or wishes as outlined in your Advance Healthcare Directive or Power of Attorney?

Have you bought or sold any real assets, such as a new home or investment property, that needs to be incorporated into your estate plan?

If you have children under age 18, are the named guardians and/or trustees in your estate plan still the right ones?

Have you prepared a letter of instruction to help the executor of your estate as they carry out your wishes?

It’s not always clear when you need to update estate documents — and it’s easy to let time slip by. We get it. Life happens.

The good news? You don’t have to go it alone. Together, we coordinate with our clients’ estate attorneys to help them comprehensively review, revisit, and understand their:

✅ Wills
✅ Trusts
✅ Powers of Attorney
✅ Advance Healthcare Directives
✅ Beneficiary Designations
✅ Transfer on Death Designations

If you want a financial planning team that thoughtfully covers everything your money touches — including your legal estate plan — we’re here to help.
