One Big Beautiful Bill – What You Need to Know

The tax and accounting world is buzzing about OB3 “One Big Beautiful Bill” and yes, it’s officially been signed into law. And already there is a lot of misinformation spreading ‼️

But here’s the real talk: we tax professionals now have hundreds of pages to read, trainings to attend, and a lot to sort through before we can give you solid answers. Be patient with us because we don’t just wake up one morning with this stuff downloaded into our brains. We have to study it, digest it, and make sure we’re interpreting it correctly before advising you.

And one more thing, just because you saw it on social media, in the news, or heard it from a friend doesn’t mean it’s accurate or that it will apply to you ‼️ This is especially true with hot topics like “no taxes on tips” or “no taxes on overtime.” Those headlines aren’t always as simple or even as true as they sound.

When you have a partnership or a s or c corp & need to file taxes understand that 80% of the work on those returns is accounting and financial statements. 20% is the actual tax calculations.

It's important to understand this because you can not have crappy unbalanced bookkeeping or accounting records & expect a return to be filed without a red flag going off with the IRS or state revenue agency.

You own a business invest in an accountant, not only will we keep you compliant but we keep you aware of your financial situation. If you are more diy & understand accounting great, don't yourself but make sure it's done correctly ‼️

Big tax refunds come from smart tax strategies, not software‼️ Work with a real tax pro and keep more of YOUR money‼️

Our New client overpaid in taxes over the last 3 years & is expected to get over $72k back as a refund! Here's how:

📌 Previous preparer mis-categorized business activity sales for business property sale which caused the owner to miss out on legitimate deductions, depreciation & cost of goods sold.

☝🏾 This one really had my jaw on the floor because howwwwwwwwww 🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️

📌 New rental was on the market but not yet rented and had legitimate expenses & depreciation to write off. But wasn't included on schedule E at all‼️😳

☝🏾 IRS publication 527 explains some of the rules around this. In short, if it was available for rent you can deduct pre-rental expenses.

📌 A few rentals where missing significant depreciation calculations resulting in an overpayment on rental income profits.

📌Taxpayer should have itemized their personal deductions versus using the standard deductions. None of their itemizations were included. Mortgage int & real property taxes, solar & energy credits missed, energy efficient renovations on primary home including a certification from licensed HVAC company, out of pocket medical etc

☝🏾 Previous preparer told them they didn't qualify & there was nowhere to put that stuff on the return 🤔🤔🤔 but we easily added them to their correct spaces on schedule A & schedule 1 👌🏾

✨ if you don't know your numbers, you don't know your business. It's really not as simple as dollars in & dollars out.

Ex: You owe over $40k in taxes. You declined tax planning & don't believe you made the money you made, let alone profited what you profited. You never saw any of it. Now there's nothing left to pay taxes.🥴

This is a situation I hear all to often. Either you tell Uncle same what you will pay or they will tell you, & the blame is not on your tax preparer all they are doing is what you hired them for your compliance paperwork, finding you savings etc is an additional service.

Work with an accountant &\or a tax expert & find out what's going on in your business‼️ We can either be just your preparer or a true strategic partner. The choice is yours.
