Ten years ago I took a leap of faith and left a cushy corporate job with benefits to start my own thing. I did it because I knew I wanted to be present for my “future kids” but more importantly, I was no longer feeling valued where I was.

Failure was never an option. I saved up six months of income and that was the time allotment I gave myself…six months or go find another “real” job. By month three I hit my goal!

Ten years later I have helped over 300 small businesses, have witnessed so many triumphs (not a single client had to close during COVID), a lot of retirements and a few hiccups along the way (2022 was not especially kind to ME so I get it!)

If you ask my kids, I work ALL OF THE TIME. If you ask me, I’m showing my two daughters that you can determine your own worth AND wealth, set your own schedule, be present with your family and shatter some glass!

It’s not always easy and I end most days thinking “I could have done more” wether it be professionally or personally, but then I remind myself, it’s MINE - I built it - this business and my home simultaneously - living MY dream and not someone else’s.

That right there is something to be proud of!

It was brought to our attention today that Intuit and Intuit QuickBooks are sending “marketing emails” to our clients in an attempt to solicit payroll services using our very own client subscription list.

Our clients are already utilizing the QuickBooks Online Payroll system due to the “sun setting” of Intuit Online Payroll which River City Payroll was subscribed to.

This is not the first time that Intuit has attempted to poach clients from the very ProAdvisors that brought the business to them to begin with (QB Live incident in 2019!).

Such despicable and deplorable actions taken by a “small business supporter”. River City Payroll did provide them with a Cease and Desist today in response and are prepared to file formal charges.
