Governor Kay Ivey has announced a leadership transition at the Alabama Department of Revenue. Commissioner Vernon Barnett will retire from state service at the end of this month after years of dedicated service to Alabama taxpayers.

Stepping into the role will be Mary Martin Mitchell, a senior attorney within the Department, bringing experience and continuity to ADOR’s mission.

Best wishes to Commissioner Barnett in his retirement, and congratulations to Mary Martin Mitchell on her new role leading the Department.
