It's time for the 2025 tax returns to start coming in and we are hoping to make this a smooth process. There are several key changes that have come up with the One Big Beautiful Bill. These changes can affect your 2025 tax return, see below for a few highlights:
1st - if you worked any overtime during 2025 it is our recommendation to provide your last check stub from 2025 along with your W2. This will help your tax preparer obtain the correct information to take advantage of the OBBB overtime tax deduction.
2nd - if you purchased a new car in 2025 the interest paid on that loan can be deductible (certain qualifications do apply) We recommend bringing in your last loan statement for 2025.
3rd - If you work in an industry that typically provides tips you may be able to take a deduction for our tip pay (limits apply). If you are a W2 employee who receives tips they will be included on your W2 form, however if you are self-employed you will need to provide this information when dropping off
4th - the IRS is not issuing paper checks so we recommend bringing in your bank info (Routing and Acct #) so that you can receive your refund via direct deposit

It's Time!!! The IRS has announced the starting date for the 2026 filing season as January 26th 2026!

IR-2026-02, Jan. 8, 2026 — The Internal Revenue Service announced Monday, January 26, 2026, as the opening of the nation’s 2026 filing season. This year, several new tax law provisions of the One, Big, Beautiful Bill become effective, which could impact federal taxes, credits and deductions.
