The new Schedule 1-A (Sch 1-A), introduced through the One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB), creates a separate deduction schedule for a limited number of qualifying categories:

• Tips earned by eligible workers
• Overtime compensation
• Car loan interest
• Additional deductions for taxpayers age 65+

This is a targeted deduction schedule and does not apply to general deductions. Understanding eligibility and documentation requirements will be important for accurate tax filing moving forward.
