⭐️ Friday Introductions! 🎤

Welcome to Meet the Team! Every week we will introduce you to a new person on the Kilikafe team! ☕️

PrayGod is our money man 💰 - our company Accountant. He’s been with us for almost 3 years and he gets to do all the “fun” stuff…recording sales and purchases, keeping the books in order, taxes, filing financial reports, handing TRA issues, etc. 🧾📈🗂️

We are just grateful we have someone we can rely on to keep us straight, financially. He’s an honest and trustworthy worker and a great addition to our team. ⭐️

You may also see him helping out on the production line- packing coffee, and getting orders prepared. 📦

When not working he enjoys spending time with family- especially his new baby nephew! 🩵

Let’s talk green coffee beans this week!

The name green coffee beans can be a bit misleading as actually they are not beans, but are the seeds of the coffee cherry, the fruit that grows on coffee trees.

When the coffee cherry ripens, it turns red and inside the cherry are typically 2 seeds (or “beans”) surrounded by a layer of parchment and mucilage. During the coffee processing, these layers are removed, leaving the green coffee beans.

Green beans are the raw, unroasted form of coffee that undergoes a series of processes before they can be brewed and enjoyed as coffee.

Welcome to Meet the Team! Every week we will introduce you to a new person on the Kilikafe team! ☕️

Shabani holds the position of Head of Quality and Customer Support. He has been working with us for almost 2 years now. His presence has significantly enriched our team dynamics, contributing significantly to our pursuit of excellence!

As Head of Quality, he is entrusted with upholding the quality standards of our coffee. This entails assessment prior to purchasing at the auction, ensuring that only the finest beans are sourced, and then supervision of coffee quality throughout the processing stages.

Kilikafee has recently renovated an area that will be used as our coffee lab. This is where all the cupping will be done. Shabani will oversee the lab and conduct the cupping- a a vital practice in the realm of coffee evaluation.

Shabani also has a lot of interactions with our customers, including offering barista trainings, imparting them with a deeper comprehension of the coffee production process and nuances of crafting an exceptional cup.

He enjoys visiting other local coffee shops in town, fostering a collaborative environment where ideas and insights are freely exchanged.

We are lucky to have Shabani on our team and appreciate his enthusiasm, his eagerness to grow professionally and desire to share his knowledge with others!
