◇Easing of entry rule in focus◇
The Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) will today discuss a proposal to further ease the country's Covid-19 restrictions.

Suggested measures include replacing RT-PCR testing with an antigen test kit (ATK) for fully vaccinated arrivals and shortening the mandatory quarantine period for those who are unvaccinated.

Thailand plans to scrap a mandatory polymerase chain reaction test on arrival for foreign visitors from next month as the Southeast Asian nation steps up efforts to attract more tourists amid a rebound in global travel.

The RT-PCR tests will be replaced with antigen tests at the airports, Deputy Health Minister Satit Pitutecha told reporters in Bangkok on Friday after a meeting of the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration. Vaccinated travelers will also no longer need to reserve a one-night hotel accommodation to secure visas, he said.

These changes have been submitted for approval and will most likely go into effect on the 1st of May.

Starting 1st of July Thailand will welcome everyone, vaccinated or not with no restrictions or quarantine.

The government is set to allow tourists to enter Thailand without the need to show proof of a negative RT-PCR test within 72 hours of travel as required by the Test & Go scheme.

CCSA agrees to cancel the need for a RT-PCR test 72 hours before arriving in for every group. Starts 1st April.

The secretary for the Public Health Ministry Dr Kiattiphum Wongrajit has revealed that pre travel tests will possibly be removed from requirements to enter Thailand.

"Under the proposed entry rules, travellers under the Test & Go scheme would no longer be required to show negative PCR test results up to 72 hours before departure to the kingdom,"

That would mean:

PCR test on arrival + $2 Antigen test day 5

The meeting to confirm this is tomorrow with a likely start date of the beginning April. More info coming shortly.
