AI or no AI.
That is the question in most young people's minds.
Comedian Ronny Chieng dissing AI did connect with his audience there. This is after many tech CEOs came up to the stage tone deaf and spoke highly of an AI future - only to be booed away.
The new Harvard graduates' resistance to AI is legitimate - it arises from a fear of what will happen to their sources of livelihood in the next 3 decades or more. What useful role can they play in an AI-dominated world?
There is obviously no clear or conclusive solution we have to this right now - go full throttle as a species to develop AI, or start restricting it? For the latter, it would take every nation on earth to genuinely agree and stop the research - very unlikely.
Until then, we simply keep doing our our best - keep learning, keep improving, and keep taking care of ourselves physically, mentally, and emotionally.
