One conversation caught me off guard. I offered something I genuinely thought was meaningful — the reply was: “You don’t have an offer.”
Stung a little, not gonna lie. Felt like a small punch to the face.
Then it hit me — I’m already stretched thin. I didn’t owe an offer for something that was never asked for, and never respected either.
Turns out, it was a good lesson. On boundaries. On self-respect — for myself.
Because if you know me, you know I’m a genuinely busy woman. I already wish I had 48 hours in a day. I have to stop piling things on and offering — especially when what I give freely gets treated like something people get to pick and choose, like I have to market myself just to be considered.
How I spend my time is my choice.
How I give, is my choice.
Walking away when it’s not valued? Also my choice.
This post is for someone, who like me, needs to know that self respect is rendered only when we respect ourselves and our times.
