Seen your kids doing the "6-7" thing? Turns out it's the perfect reminder for company owners too.
Your two big ACRA dates are both counted from your Financial Year End (FYE):
• 6 — hold your AGM within 6 months after FYE (unless your company is exempt or has dispensed with the AGM).
• 7 — file your Annual Return (AR) within 7 months after FYE, via Bizfile.
A private company can skip the AGM if it sends financial statements to all members within 5 months after FYE, or if members pass a resolution to dispense with AGMs. Either way, you still declare your AGM status when filing the AR.
Leave it late and it can cost up to S$600 — plus more hassle if it keeps sliding. So diarise the 6 and the 7 early.
Prefer to never think about it again? BTA tracks and files your AGM and annual return for you.
