ParqueExpo foi e será dos maiores projetos de Requalificação Urbana à escala planetária. Já são 90 os países em que trabalhei sempre à procura de modelos de transformação positiva do território e são poucos os exemplos comparáveis aquele em que uma equipa excecional se juntou para mostrar que é possível construir Cidades do Futuro.

Em 2002 o Dr. Mega Ferreira lançou-me o desafio "Como podemos criar um reflexo do Parque das Nações na Margem Sul?"
A 13 de Setembro desse ano a equipa multidisciplinar de Montagem de Negócios, que tive a honra de gerir apresentou uma proposta.

Foi por isto um prazer muito grande ouvir que estamos novamente no caminho de relançar o Arco Ribeirinho do Tejo (ART).

A requalificação urbana, assente no Desenvolvimento Sustentável, centrada nas Pessoas, focada no Planeta e por isso em reduzir a pegada ambiental é provavelmente a melhor forma de promover Prosperidade.

Imagine a world where the public and private sectors unite to implement the Future We Want!

If you want to be part of this family, join us in this Forum, where Sustainable Development is the common language and the SDGs are our framework to transform it into reality.
Together, we have discussed, shared, and published more than 200 case studies worldwide, with a triple goal: leaving no one behind and promoting social cohesion; healing and protecting our planet; and designing and implementing investible businesses that ensure prosperity for our communities.

Again, I am very privileged to be part of the UNECE team gathering and assisting you with projects that contribute to achieving the SDGs. This demonstrates that Public-Private Partnerships are essential to promote the Common Good through Public Policies and Public Investments.

Do not hesitate to share your project with me or the UNECE PPP team. We wish to learn from you, see your project scaled up, and replicate it so that we can fulfil the 2030 UN Agenda together.

Understanding “The Australian Miracle” using the SDG lens

Suppose we associate development miracles with prolonged and steady economic growth, peace, transparency, strong institutions, passion for living and being with nature, quality education, smiles and friendliness on people’s faces. If we accept this perspective, Australia is a champion country, and its development model should be further studied and replicated.

After one month of visiting, listening, reading, and talking with people, the most straightforward answer would be Australians' ability to learn and keep improving from the First Nations to understand and promote environmental policies. The intelligence to maintain traditions from the British, from their education, not just the ones we bring from school but also the ones that allow us to apologise and treat everyone with dignity, ensuring social cohesion. The entrepreneurial capacity US Americans have to make the economy grow through micro, medium and giant enterprises working hard with a highly skilled and motivated workforce. The talent to make everybody else who has adopted this country as their home give their best, promoting an excellent example of multiculturalism.

The possibility of working with the public and private sectors, civil society, and academia allowed us to realise that even if sometimes it is not evident how explicitly the economic, environmental, and social dimensions are integrated, implicitly, Prosperity is always there for the People and healing and protecting the Planet as it is reflected on the Brisbane and Melbourne VLRs.

I am deeply grateful to the people of Brisbane, Straddie, Noosa, Burleigh Heads, Byron Bay, Forsters, Wamberal, Canberra, Albury, Rutherglen, Melbourne, Bondi, Manly, and Sydney. Their candid sharing of experiences has been instrumental in my understanding of Australia's development model. Their stories have shown me that humanity is indeed capable of creating miracles.

Estou feliz por partilhar que o meu livro "SDGs, Why? and For Whom?" "ODS, Porquê? e Para Quem?" inicialmente publicado em Inglês, está agora publicado em Português, Francês, Espanhol, Italiano, Alemão e Russo.

Espero que gostem e terei sempre muito prazer em trocar ideias sobre como em conjunto podemos fazer um mundo melhor.

Why The Passion for Sustainable Development (SD) and the SDGs?
T1: When I first understood that rather than choosing between People, Planet, and Prosperity I should integrate them. It was an Epiphany!
T2: When I learned the UN adopted SD as the Agenda for 2030 calling it the Sustainable Development Goals. It was clear that I should dedicate my life to it.
T3: When UNECE asked me to work on the SDG implementation through Partnerships. It was a dream coming true and the next best thing was to collect over 100 case studies on how this happening in over 60 countries worldwide.
T4: The challenge of transforming all this in a PhD Thesis, especially overcoming the initial academic obstacle to cover all SDGs simultaneously. (rather than treating on silos as many colleagues pushed for).
T5: Is today and tomorrow, next year and the year after that, that consists of continuously improving the Visions, Strategies and Projects and making them go live in nations, cities and organizations around the planet.

This is my 4th book but the first I go solo, and reflects all the research and experience I have had over the past 58 years, I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did writing it... please send and share any comments or suggestions, I am certain that We sustainable Development scientists and practitioners are just starting this new paradigm of development.

"Cidades do Futuro" são aquelas onde queremos ter os nossos filhos e netos! São aqueles locais onde queremos viver, trabalhar, ir às compras, rir e sorrir em comunidade.
Isto significa que todas as Cidades podem ser do Futuro desde que em conjunto as façamos evoluir, e para isso podemos e devemos utilizar como roteiro os Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável.

A Unidade Curricular "Cidades do Futuro" foi criada por mim e pela Dra. Julie Lefebvre Presidente da ESAI, em 2010. Em 2015 adotamos imediatamente os ODS e os nossos alunos foram dos primeiros a falar deles e a respira-los.

Este foi mais um ano onde descarregamos a nossa paixão em Vila de Rei, Cheleiros - Mafra, Minas de São Domingos - Mértola, Bombarral, Casal de Cambra - Sintra, Bairro da Princesa - Seixal, Povoa de Santa Iria - Vila Franca de Xira.

Agradeço a/os aluna/os pela dedicação e felicito pelos resultados alcançados, deixando um agradecimento especial a todos os autarcas que os receberam e que partilharam as patologias e os desejos das suas comunidades para que em conjunto possamos deixar o mundo melhor!

Our job as hashtag , hashtag , hashtag , hashtag is to inspire the next generation, push them upwards, and let them Shine!

The evidence to support this argument comes from the work developed by our 44 first-year first-semester students from hashtag and their 44 hashtag shared on the site below.

"This e-portfolio brilliantly encapsulates the lessons we absorbed throughout the semester, showcasing the startups created by each student. It is a visual representation of our collective journey, illustrating how we have learned to turn our lessons into potential future businesses to solve real-world social and environmental issues."

ESTAMOS EMPENHADOS NA IMPLEMENTAÇÃO DOS ODS
Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável

Estivemos em trabalho conjunto no âmbito da implementação dos Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável (ODS) no Concelho de Mafra, numa sessão dinamizada pela Câmara Municipal, servindo de base para a criação de uma estratégia comum.

Valorizando a união entre autarquia, munícipes e empresas locais, estas ações permitiram o debate sobre o futuro da sustentabilidade no Concelho de Mafra, nomeadamente as visões e estratégias a implementar por cada entidade, a inclusão de novos projetos e os recursos financeiros a alocar a cada uma das iniciativas propostas
