CIDG SEIZED OVER PHP 19 MILLION WORTH OF GAS REFILLING EQUIPMENT AND CYLINDER TANKS
In compliance with the directives of CPNP PGEN ROMMEL FRANCISCO D MARBIL to intensify the campaigns against unauthorized refilling, sale and distribution of petroleum products, the CIDG successfully seized over Php 19 million worth of gas refilling equipment and cylinder tanks during a police operation on September 14, 2024 at about 2:30 AM in Brgy. 163 Sta. Quiteria, Caloocan City.
Personnel from the CIDG Southern Metro Manila District Field Unit implemented a Search Warrant issued by Hon. Andres Soriano, Presiding Judge of RTC Branch 148, Makati City dated September 13, 2024 for violation of R.A. No. 8293 (Intellectual Property Code Act) against the owners, managers and operators of Pyro LPG Refilling Station, who were involved in the unauthorized sale and distribution of petroleum products based on the information received by the CIDG.
PMGEN LEO M FRANCISCO, CIDG Director reported that while the owners were not present during police operation, nine (9) individuals were apprehended. These individuals were found performing various roles including HR personnel, office staff, refillers and drivers.
The arrested individuals were in possession and control of more than 140 LPG cylinder tanks (both filled and empty), including brands like Solane, Petron and Fiesta. In addition, several large and small filling scales with corresponding nozzles and hoses used for illegal refilling were confiscated, along with two trucks (Mitsubishi Canter and Isuzu Elf) employed for the transportation of illegally refilled LPG cylinders. Various documents and invoices from Pyro LPG Corporation, a check from BDO Bank under the account Nimea Gulane and cash amounting to Php 3,800.00 were also seized.
The operation was conducted peacefully and in orderly manner with the presence of local officials, representatives from Solane and Petron Gas Corporation, as well as media representatives.
PMGEN FRANCISCO remarked, "The seizure of over Php 19 million worth of illegal equipment and the arrest of nine (9) individuals involved in this illicit trade is a substantial victory in our ongoing efforts to combat intellectual property violations and illegal business operations.
