𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗨𝗔𝗟 𝗜𝗡𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗘 𝗧𝗔𝗫 𝗥𝗘𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗡 𝗗𝗘𝗔𝗗𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗘 𝗠𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗗 𝗧𝗢 𝗠𝗔𝗬 𝟭𝟱, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has issued Revenue Memorandum Circular No. 30-2026, extending the deadline to May 15, 2026 for the filing of 2025 Annual Income Tax Returns, payment of the corresponding taxes due thereon, and submission of required attachments.

“In line with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., this extension is meant to make tax compliance easier for taxpayers at a time when many are managing added strain from the ongoing energy crisis,” Commissioner Charlito Martin R. Mendoza said.

Taxpayers may file through the BIR’s electronic filing platforms and pay electronically through available payment platforms, or manually through the nearest Authorized Agent Banks.

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) warns the public against fraudulent activities involving the creation of eSECURE accounts.

The eSECURE system is a secure credentialing service under the Commission’s eKYC module, which includes biometric verification and liveness detection. Each account is 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 and must be created and completed solely by the applicant.

The submission of false or manipulated biometric data, forged or misleading documents, and inaccurate personal information is strictly prohibited. Violators may be subject to appropriate regulatory actions, including fines under the Revised Corporation Code.

The public is strongly advised to personally open their eSECURE accounts and refrain from engaging third parties for this purpose.

The Securities and Exchange Commission has released Memorandum Circular No. 10, series of 2026, providing updated guidelines on reportorial compliance and the scale of penalties to ensure uniform monitoring and enforcement.

These guidelines aim to strengthen compliance standards and support transparency under the Revised Corporation Code.

📣 𝗦𝗘𝗖 𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗙𝗦, 𝗚𝗜𝗦 𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has issued the schedule for the submission of corporations’ annual financial statements (AFS) and general information sheets (GIS) for 2026.

The SEC on February 11 issued Memorandum Circular No. 9, Series of 2026, which provides for the schedule of the 2026 Filing of Annual Financial Statements and General Information Sheets.

The AFS and GIS shall be filed through the Electronic Filing and Submission Tool, or eFAST. Other reports not yet accepted through eFAST shall be submitted through the iMessage Online Ticketing System at imessage.sec.gov.ph.

📣 𝗦𝗘𝗖 𝗲𝘅𝗲𝗺𝗽𝘁𝘀 𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘂𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗙𝗦

Micro enterprises are now exempted from submitting audited financial statements as part of their reportorial requirements, as the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) moves to streamline compliance and reduce regulatory burdens for small companies.

The Commission on January 20 issued Memorandum Circular No. 4, Series of 2026, providing the Amendments to the Application and Definition of Terms under Revised Rule 68 of Republic Act No. 8799, or the Securities and Regulation Code (SRC), in Relation to the Adjustment of the Audit Threshold.

The memorandum circular exempts both stock and nonstock corporations with total assets or liabilities not exceeding P3 million from submitting audited financial statements.

Previously, only stock and nonstock corporations with total assets or liabilities less than P600,000 were exempted from mandatory audit.

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has issued Memorandum Circular No. 15, Series of 2025 or the Beneficial Ownership Disclosure Rules of 2026 to strengthen corporate transparency, accountability, and good governance.

The revised rules enhance the accuracy and accessibility of beneficial ownership information, supporting efforts to prevent the misuse of corporate structures and combat financial crimes. They also align Philippine regulations with international standards and promote effective inter-agency cooperation.

Reporting entities are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the new requirements and ensure timely compliance.
