Sister's Love โค๏ธโ๏ธโ๏ธ
(Long post)........
Way back June 2021, as a newly coded financial advisor of Sun Life, I wasn't sure what would be my journey, to whom I would present or where should I first meet people. Marami ang maaring hindi naniwala sakin at first, but my Ate, from the very start up to the last, supported me all through out.
The time that I was reviewing for Insurance Commision examination, I already asked her to get an insurance sakin once na makapasa na ako. After I passed the exam, sabi ko pabirthday na nya sakin ang pagkuha nya ng insurance (June), iprocess na namin ang insurance nya kako, at first medyo hesitant sya nun e kasi marami sya utang at may mga gastusin pa, nangugupahan, factory worker at wala namang extra income. That's when I said na better start na since breadwinner and provider ang ate, after presenting the proposal, umoo naman agad sya, she applied for insurance right away, not just one but 2 policies agad. โค๏ธ
We processed the requirements right away, then after few days, the insurance got approved. I'm so happy, and I also felt her happiness that time, sabi pa nya sakin "Yan na pabirthday ko sayo at salamat toy, insured na ako".
She was my very first client. I was so happy that time and felt overwhelmed kasi I was able to make her feel that there's someone na would support her plans. Everything was in plan, lagi ko syang nireremind na mag ipon na ng pambayad since after 3 months e pwede na nya hulugan monthly and tuloy tuloy na yun, until one day everything changed.
September 2021, supposedly her second quarter due of paying her insurance, she slowly lost her strength and had shortness of breathing, and later on died from it. Her company required her to take swab test which happened hours before she died. and when the results came out, it says that she was positive for Covid19. Sobrang bilis ng pangyayari that we didn't even think na hahantong sa ganun. It was really so heart breaking for our family and for me, not only as her financial advisor, but also bilang kapatid, that until now I am still grieving.
I was on my lowest and felt drained, but I made her a promise, Ate made plans and trusted me to guide her and these, para sa ikabubuti ng anak nya, ng pamangkin ko and ng parents namin. So, I processed the claims right away after ko maasikaso lahat ng kailangan nya prior her death.
The 2 policies are both on contestability period, meaning the company has a right to investigate thoroughly the cause of death, making it a bit more challenging to claim right away lalo pa that she was about to pay palang her second quarterly due and only the initial quarter payment for her application has been paid.
After a year ng pag aasikaso, I received a text message from claims department that claims were approved. I was so relieved, na sa lahat ng hirap namin to send necessary requirements, at last I can start now the promise, I can start her goals para sa anak nya, kahit wala na sya.
She was my first client and also my first claim. Sobrang sakit para sakin na mawala ang isang kapatid na tulad nya, supportive, maalahanin, and very mapagmahal sa kapatid at magulang. But I am grateful that I am once trusted and supported by her.
I shared my story, our story , and story of our claim, in remembering how loving my Ate is, and how she was able to prepare ahead against unforseen events .This is also to inspire everyone that there is nothing wrong in listening, understanding and discovering how insurance works. If a Financial Advisor approached you, it's not all about money, it's just that we care, we care for someone's future, someone's plan and someone's needs. You might say that you are struggling on your finances right now because you have loans, mga hulugan, got a car/house to pay, a house to renovate, you support your family needs, breadwinner ka, you have finances on your business, no budget for this, but these are all the exact reasons why you should get an insurance because who will shoulder all of these if something happens to you? Do you want to be a burden to your family?
Ate taught me the real value of insurance. It is indeed a love insurance and how it can help the family go on moving forward. My Ate fulfilled and gave meaning to my being an Advisor.
To my dearest clients. Salamat , for letting me help you reach your financial dreams. โค๏ธ
To my mentors, UM Sarah, SM HelloKeit , and Kuya Nicasio, these knowledge that I have is nothing without all of you. Thank you so muchโค๏ธ
And to my Ate Sylvie, I love you so much, thank you for everything and I wish that you're seeing these things right now. Lahat ng bilin mo, naisasaayos ko na. You will surely rest now in so much peace. I miss you. ๐ฅบ
