How significant to have an accountant and a lawyer who has a tax expertise?

Many taxpayers specially individuals decided not to hire an Accountant thinking they can save money. Worse, many individuals does not want to register thinking it will be a hassle for them to file while they only earn a little.

I strongly recommend that if you are working and earning as self employed, please register and file your tax since this is a BIR mandate to everyone who has an earnings. While it may be true that you can't file on your own, you can hire an accountant to compute and file for you. Will it help you lower your tax? Not necessarily, but they can help you to file and avail all your rights as a taxpayer. In short, they can consider all the possiblities to compute your tax properly which will or might lead to a lower tax due and payable compared to your own computation.

The biggest mistake a company or an individual can make is not to hire an accountant (CPA) for their business or profession. Some people I'd known hire a non-CPA or worse, not hiring anyone at all to do their Tax filing thinking they will save money. The truth is, hiring a well versed Accountant (CPA) will help you how to compute properly and can help/explain to you how to do the right thing to ensure that all your expenses will be deductible which leads you to a lower taxable income.
