The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), through the Financing and Lending Companies Department (FinLenD), warns the public against installing unauthorized or suspicious application files (APK files) received through links, messages, or online meetings.

These files may be used to gain unauthorized access to your mobile device, steal personal and financial information, intercept OTPs, and even facilitate unauthorized loans or transactions under your name.

Protect yourself:
👉🏻 Only download apps from official app stores
👉🏻 Do not click suspicious links or install unknown files
👉🏻 Never share passwords, PINs, OTPs, or biometric data
👉🏻 Verify the identity of anyone requesting your information
👉🏻 Report suspicious activities immediately
