FAMILY BUSINESS AND FAMILY CORPORATION.

I heard from Atty. Cabrera, when you put your children into co-ownership and you did not do anything about it, you intend to put them in chaos.

Marami sa ating mga Filipino ang nagtayo Ng business, built a family corporation and that's it. Mostly ang focus ay day to day operation ng business, paano kumita etc... If it happens that the business bless the family, the children will work in the company as well and sometimes it put a mental and emotional stress among the children. Mostly due to pressure na boss mo ang magulang mo, or lahat kayong magkakapatid ay boss din at Yung pressure sa negosyo mismo. At sa mga magulang, sa gusto na walang selosan sa mga anak,pantay pantay ang sahod pero when it comes to expertise at pagiging responsible ng mga anak ay hindi naman pare pareho.

Managing a family business is not as easy as 123, either it will make or break a family. Madami tayong nababalitaan na nag away na magkaka mag- anak,magkakapatid dahil sa negosyo or mga Ari a***n. Wealth should bless the family not curse the family. Bakit? May Mali bang nagawa? Or dahil Walang ginawa?

Corporate Governance, Business Succession Planning, Estate Planning and Insurance are not given much importance. Founders of a family business focus more on the day to day operation of the business, they are more concerned about sa transaction, paano kumita, which focus more on survival of the business. Paano if established na ang company? What's next? You might be training your child or children to manage the business, they are next in succession pero usually nagkakaroon ng misunderstanding.

The Yanson family feud is one the sad stories na nangyayari sa totoong buhay. What triggers a mother to disinherit her 4 children? What triggers the children to go against their mother?

I hope someday, madaming founders ang mag take into consideration about Business Succession Planning, Estate Planning, Corporate Governance and Insurance, so that before they will leave this world of ours, they will leave their children at peace and in harmony, not in conflict.
