🚩Breaking: Grayscale win over SEC Lawsuit

In a significant turn of events, Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC) emerges victorious in its battle against the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) over its Bitcoin ETF aspirations. A recent court filing reveals that a U.S. Court of Appeals Circuit Judge has ordered the review petition to be granted, vacating the SEC's previous order to deny the GBTC listing application. This marks a substantial step forward for Grayscale, but doesn't guarantee an immediate listing of their Bitcoin ETF.

Grayscale's determination to convert GBTC into a listed Bitcoin ETF led to a legal tussle with the SEC since June 2022. The asset manager challenged the SEC's selective approval of ETFs tied to Bitcoin futures, asserting that such differential treatment is "arbitrary and capricious."

The recent ruling by the DC Circuit Court of Appeals panel amplifies Grayscale's stance, requiring the SEC to reassess the GBTC application. Grayscale CEO Michael Sonnenshein has expressed active engagement with the court's decision.
