The markets have been running up for the past months amid higher jobless claims. To be honest, I was bearish in April, personally lost some money that month. But things turned out differently than expected. And I responded to what I saw. Yes, my clients made money and we locked in the gains.

This is another opportunity to review and reassess investment holdings. There could be rotation in asset classes.

Global stocks are ending the week with an unwind of recent strong gains, as the rotation away from high-flying tech stocks gains steam amid question marks over the sustainability of lofty valuations.

The recent pandemic got a lot of people asking me about their existing policies and reviewing their financial plans. The top 3 key concerns involve health and their preparedness for any medical crisis.
Most, if not all, are insufficiently prepared for a health crisis. An HMO is almost always not enough given the limited coverage. Not to mention, in the PH we now have a problem with our public healthcare. Critical Illness Insurance coverage are either non-existent or way below the basic coverage to avoid falling into financial crisis. To the very few who have millions of health insurance coverage, the gap comes from the loss of income, or lack of business continuity measures.
We heard a few stories of people with active lifestyles that suddenly get hit by a heart attack, stroke, cancer or auto-immune disease.
The perfect health crisis solution involves a 360 degree look into all these risk mitigating or avoidance measures because an ounce of prevention is worth more than a pound of cure.

I know Jeff Bezos but I never really knew his story. In his statement to the US House Committee last July 28, I found him to be just as inspiring, insightful and impactful as the entity he built. He “invented” his way to where he is driven by vision, passion, self-belief, integrity and genuine thought for others.

Our local investment universe continues to expand!

REIT is a corporation that primarily invests in income-generating real estate such as office spaces, shopping malls, service apartments, and even hotels, hospitals and warehouses.

It gives investors an opportunity to invest directly in the finished projects rather than the developer itself.

This was meant to attract dividend-seeking investors because the REIT law requires the distribution of at least 90 percent of income as dividends annually.

The REIT Act, passed by Congress in 2009, allows REIT companies to list and trade its shares of stock, allowing developers to recycle capital for further property development and expansion initiatives.
