The Securities and Exchange Commission has extended the temporary use of the 2020 General Information Sheet (GIS) Form for filing through eFAST until 15 May 2026.

Corporations that are still setting up their eSECURE accounts may continue to use the 2020 GIS Form during this extended period.

BIR ANNOUNCEMENT | DEADLINE EXTENDED

The Bureau of Internal Revenue has officially issued Revenue Memorandum Circular No. 030-2026 extending the deadline for filing 2025 Annual Income Tax Returns (ITR).

✅ New Deadline: May 15, 2026
(from original April 15, 2026)
This extension also covers:
✔️ Payment of taxes due
✔️ Submission of required attachments
📌 The extension was granted to give taxpayers more time to comply, especially in light of the current economic conditions.
💻 Taxpayers are encouraged to file and pay electronically through BIR’s online platforms or via Authorized Agent Banks.

BIR Revenue Memorandum Circular No. 027-2026

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) hereby informs the public of the issuance of RMC No. 027-2026 dated April 8, 2026, which publishes the updated list of VAT-Exempt Drugs as endorsed by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), pursuant to the provisions of the TRAIN Law (RA 10963) and the CREATE Act (RA 11534).

The updated list covers medicines for the following illnesses:

• Cancer – 702
• Diabetes – 327
• High Cholesterol – 171
• Hypertension – 535
• Kidney Disease – 152
• Mental Illness – 300
• Tuberculosis – 76

This issuance supersedes all previous circulars and issuances relating to VAT-exempt medicines.

All internal revenue officials, employees, and other concerned parties are hereby enjoined to be guided accordingly.

BIR Advisory for Taxpayers

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has issued Revenue Memorandum Circular No. 020-2026 providing guidelines on the filing of the Annual Income Tax Return (AITR) for Calendar Year 2025.

🗓 Deadline: On or before April 15, 2026

Taxpayers are reminded to file their returns through the following BIR electronic filing platforms:

✔ eFPS (Electronic Filing and Payment System) – for taxpayers mandated or enrolled in eFPS
✔ Offline eBIRForms Package v7.9.5 – for non-eFPS taxpayers, including those filing “No Payment” returns

📄 Applicable forms include:
• BIR Form 1700
• BIR Form 1701
• BIR Form 1701A
• BIR Form 1702-RT
• BIR Form 1702-EX
• BIR Form 1702-MX

Taxpayers filing via Offline eBIRForms are advised to take a screenshot of the confirmation message or email notification as proof of successful filing.

BIR ISSUES RMO NO. 001-2026 – RESUMPTION OF TAX AUDIT OPERATIONS

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has released Revenue Memorandum Order (RMO) No. 001-2026, prescribing the revised policies, controls, and procedures for tax audit and assessment following the lifting of the suspension previously imposed under RMC No. 107-2025.

The Order formally resumes tax audit and related field operations, including the issuance of:

• Electronic Letters of Authority (eLAs)
• Mission Orders (MOs)
• Tax Verification Notices (TVNs)

The revised guidelines aim to strengthen transparency, ensure due process, prevent misuse of audit authority, and promote accountability in the conduct of tax examinations.

Taxpayers are encouraged to review their compliance status and ensure that books, records, and supporting documents are properly maintained in anticipation of audit activities.
