Earlier today, February 27, 2026, the Filamer Christian University – Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (FCU-JPIA) successfully conducted another enriching session of “𝗟𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗔𝗖𝗬: An Accounting Seminar Series for the Future Guardians of Financial Integrity,” with a focus on Transfer and Business Taxation.

The seminar was attended by third-year and fourth-year Bachelor of Science in Accountancy students and featured Ms. Patrisha Marie Venteroso as the esteemed resource speaker. The discussion became even more engaging and insightful as she thoroughly explained the concepts of transfer and business taxes, particularly strengthening the students’ knowledge and skills in computing Value-Added Tax (VAT) and understanding its practical applications.

The program formally opened with a prayer led by Mitz Dela Cruz, followed by the introduction of the speaker by Alfie Caraig.

The FCU-JPIA organization extends its sincere appreciation to Ms. Venteroso for generously sharing her expertise and for contributing to the academic and professional growth of future financial professionals.

Yesterday marked the first showing of CINEMACCOUNTING, attended by the FCU JPIAns. The featured documentary focused on the Wirecard scandal, one of the most controversial corporate fraud cases in recent history.

The documentary served as a powerful learning tool, reinforcing the importance of integrity, professional ethics, and independence in the accounting profession. It reminded future accountants that technical knowledge alone is not enough—strong moral principles and the courage to uphold ethical standards are equally essential.

Following the viewing, the JPIA Officers facilitated a Question and Answer segment to assess participants’ understanding of the documentary. They also shared their reflections, encouraging meaningful discussions about accountability and ethical responsibility.

The first CINEMACCOUNTING showing was not only informative but also eye-opening. It inspired FCU JPIAns to reflect on their future roles in promoting transparency, accountability, and ethical practice in the field of accounting.
