What every father should be.
Love, not much of words, but more of actions.

You may not have a rich father, but at least he’s not always angry. At least he tries his best to provide with what he has. That already means a lot.

He comes home tired, but he still brings food. He still checks on you. He still shows up.

Like Gwan-Sik in When Life Gives You Tangerines. He didn’t have much, but he gave everything he could. He stayed kind. He stayed present.

Some fathers don’t say “I love you” out loud. But they show it in small, quiet ways.

They wake up early. They work all day. They carry the weight so their kids don’t have to.

That’s what it means to be a provider. That’s what makes them a blessing.

And if you have a dad like that, you’re not poor.

You’re loved. You’re lucky.

This was what my niece said at the wake of my 81 y/o cousin, her dad, my Tatay’s nephew and kababata.

The wake became an awakening venue for the younger generation with aging parents on the importance of a St. Peter plan. It’s an investment for a guaranteed future expense. Gagastusan mo rin lang naman sa takdang panahon. Kumuha ka na ngayon habang kumikita ka, habang di pa nagtataas.

The St. Gregory plan was 32K in 2018 and is now 57K payable in 5 years. For non-planholders at the time of need, it costs 155K payable in 3 days at today’s market value.

I just observed, bakit madalang na ang umiiyak sa burol? I guess one factor is hindi na naiistress ang naiwan sa gastusin.😊💜💚
