Reflecting on the idea of "winning in private," I realize the power of silent success. In a world where validation often comes from external praise, it's easy to get caught up in proving others wrong. However, true fulfillment stems from personal achievement and inner growth, not from public recognition. When others belittle or drag us down, it reflects more on their insecurities than our worth. By focusing on our goals and thriving quietly, we turn our success into a powerful, silent response. This approach fosters resilience and self-respect, teaching us that our value isn't determined by others' opinions but by our perseverance and accomplishments.

FIRST FILIPINO CPA? 👀🧾

Don Vicente Fabella made history as the first Filipino Certified Public Accountant, earning his Certificate in Public Accountancy in the United States in 1915.

At a time when accountancy was still developing as a profession in the Philippines, Fabella helped open the path for generations of Filipino accountants, auditors, business leaders, and finance professionals.

His legacy went beyond numbers and ledgers. After returning to the Philippines, he became an important figure in business education and later founded what would become José Rizal University.

Originally established in 1919 as the Far Eastern College School of Accounts, Commerce, and Finance, the institution was created to strengthen commercial education in the country. It was later renamed José Rizal College in 1922 in honor of Dr. José Rizal, before eventually becoming José Rizal University.

Through his work in accountancy and education, Don Vicente Fabella helped shape two important fields in the Philippines: professional accounting and business-focused learning.

Today, his name remains remembered not only as the country’s first Filipino CPA, but also as an educator and institution-builder whose legacy continues through the students and professionals inspired by his work. ✨
