I recently had the chance to help a 27-year-old seafarer secure his insurance plan before going back onboard. 🌊⚓

One thing he told me really stayed with me: “Mas okay nang prepared habang maaga kaysa magsisi pag may nangyari.”

As a breadwinner, hindi lang sarili nila ang iniisip nila habang nasa barko pati family nilang naghihintay sa Pilipinas. Kaya saludo ako sa mga taong pinipiling maging responsible habang maaga pa. ❤️

Last night, in the middle of our consultation, the conversation paused for a moment as a call came in unexpected, yet timely, from my client. ❤️

Sinabi ko sa kanila na nasa meeting ako at baka hindi ako makasagot agad, then I assured them na I’ll call them back the next day.

Matagal na nilang pinag-iisipan kumuha ng insurance.

Si mommy is working as a VA, si daddy naman may small business. Pareho silang breadwinner, pareho ring iniisip yung future ng dalawang kids nila. 🤍

Habang nasa consultation kami, biglang natawa si mommy tapos sabi niya,
“Sir Dan, super helpful po nito… mas na-realize namin na hindi lang pala kami ni hubby yung kailangan ma-protect, pati din yung kids namin. Gusto na rin namin ma-finalize to.”

Doon naging mas real yung usapan.

It was no longer just about the proposal or the coverage.
It turned into a conversation about real life the business, the work, the daily responsibilities, and the uncertainties that come with it, but still need to be prepared for.

Tinanong ko sila: “Ano po yung main reason bakit nyo po ito pinag-iisipan?”
Sabi ni mommy: “Matagal na naming gustong mag-start… gusto lang namin na kahit anong mangyari, secured yung mga bata.”

Si daddy naman, tahimik lang pero kita mo yung pagsang-ayon.

Hanggang sa sinabi nila: “Sir Dan, i-proceed na natin para sa buong family.”

That night, hindi lang isa ang na-secure buong family nila. Mommy (VA), Daddy (small business owner), and their two kids. 🙏

Minsan hindi kailangan perfect timing. Minsan kailangan lang ng decision na galing sa love at responsibility para sa family.

Hindi lahat ng client meeting nauuwi agad sa pagkuha ng insurance.

Madalas, nagsisimula lang talaga sa tanong—
“Paano ba ito nagwo-work?”
“Kailangan ko na ba talaga nito?”

And honestly, doon ako mas nagfo-focus.

Kasi bawat usapan, hindi lang about produkto.
It’s about helping someone understand paano nila mapoprotektahan yung income nila, yung family nila, at yung future na pinaghihirapan nila ngayon.

Hindi ko goal mang-pressure.
Mas importante sakin na malinaw sa kanila kung bakit nila ito ginagawa—hindi dahil sinabi ko, kundi dahil naiintindihan nila.

Kasi at the end of the day,
mas okay yung prepared ka…
kesa matuto lang kapag huli na.

Doon nagkakaiba ang may plano at umaasa lang.

Hindi ko inexpect na ganito yung naging usapan namin today.

Isang loving daughter yung nag-inquire last year about insurance para sa mom niya. Marami siyang questions noon, halatang nag-iingat lang talaga siya sa decision gusto niya sure bago mag-decide. 🤍

Habang nag-uusap kami, inisa-isa ko lang yung explanation, walang pressure, diretso lang para malinaw lahat. More on understanding lang talaga kaysa selling.

Tapos tinanong ko siya before: “Bakit po kayo nag-decide mag-inquire para sa mom niyo?”

Sabi niya: “I just want her to be secured while I still can provide for her.” 🙏

Fast forward ngayon,This Labor Day, we conduct again quick consultation. And hindi ko inexpect, pero this time nag-decide siya na hindi lang pala mom niya yung gusto niyang i-secure—kundi pati sarili niya. ✨

Sabi niya: “If I’m already preparing protection for my mom, I should also be prepared for myself. Thank you, Dan, for explaining it well”

Yung mga ganitong moment, dun mo marerealize na hindi lang talaga siya about insurance. More on responsibility, love, at pagiging ready lang talaga sa buhay. 🤍

From inquiry to consultation every conversation had a deeper story behind it. 🙌

Last year, a 27-year-old Seaman from North Cotabato reached out first. During our discussion, I explained everything clearly and step by step. He opened up and said: “Yung mga kasama ko sa barko interested sa insurance, sir… and yung tita ko nagka-cancer, sobrang hirap pala magkasakit sa Pilipinas.”

Shortly after, a 33-year-old Nurse onboard a cruise ship from Marikina also had a consultation. She shared: “I believe in insurance because my parents are insured… and I am their beneficiary.”

Two clients. Two different life experiences. But both reminded me of one truth. Insurance became important the moment life showed how unpredictable it really is 😔

And in those moments, it wasn’t about selling anything it was about helping people feel secure, informed, and protected for the people they love ❤️

A 24-year-old BPO Analyst from Camarines Norte reached out to inquire about insurance.

Same region kami, so mas naging natural yung flow ng conversation. Smooth lang yung consultation since I made sure na maayos at simple yung explanation—step by step para hindi siya ma-overwhelm.

During our talk, I asked her, “What made you interested in insurance at your age? Lately kasi ang dami nangyayari, and we’re seeing na pabata nang pabata yung nagkakasakit or nagkaka-emergency.”

She paused for a moment and said she just wants to start early and be prepared. 🙏

And honestly, that’s very timely.
Kasi hindi na talaga natin alam kung ano pwede mangyari next—pero one thing is sure, mas magaan kapag prepared ka kaysa maghabol ka ng solutions in the middle of a problem.

At the end of our conversation, I told her this:

“Hindi mo kailangan hintayin na maging ready ang life mo… ang importante, ready ka before life happens.” 🙏
